    Iolar, Osa and Uiver.

No, I'm not typing in some strange language here... Spend (Yet another..) afternoon in the Aviodrome. Nice weather today, and some great photo opportunities!

First of all ,the DC-2 Uiver was parked outside today, showing her bare metal in the sunlight, a great opportunity to do some HDR shots:

Next up, the Aer Lingus DH.84 Dragon 'Iolar' which was leaving for a European tour today :

The Dragon was hardly out of sight of the second special guest of the day arrived, just before closing time: The Sikorsky S-38 'Osa's ark'!

    What a beauty!

The Sikorsky will stay at the museum until March Rob, so still plenty of time left to see it. This winter it will receive full service at the museum and then return back home for the 100th anniversary of the Sikorsky factory.

    Thanks Kevin!

    A few more:

    Taxiing out to refuel:

Two classics coming in to land:

The 'Fokker Four' leaving for a display :

Osa's Ark in front of her new home for the winter:

Two detail shots; note the enourmous amount of control cables running to the tail! Surely the amount of drag from all those struts and wires was very large!:

Interesting: Kermit Weeks visited the museum this week and sealed the deal at Schiphol to buy the S-38 from it's former owner Tom shrade, so the S-38 will join Kermit's S-39 at his Fantasy of flight museum!
