    I paged through all 100+ PBY entries at FlightSim.com and didn't see any repaints by Pierre for the AlphaSim/Virtavia aircraft. Do you have a link, or file name(s)? There was quite a bit more available for Mike Stone's and the Aerosoft PBY's.

    I've had the Alpha Cat since it first came out, and unfortunately there are not too many repaints out there. There are a few on the various sites, but none I found of the NZ Cat. Hope someone takes on that one.

    Would anybody know how to delete the original 'modelled' lighting on the Viggen?
    This is such a nice aircraft, but was certainly in need of a new illumination treatment...:-)

    [lights]
    //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

    light.0 = 4, 18.75, 0.00, 1.00, fx_shockwave_vclight, //fx_vclight,
    light.1 = 7, -16.50, -14.90, -1.50, fx_contrail_Alpha Viggen
    light.2 = 7, -16.50, 14.90, -1.50, fx_contrail_Alpha Viggen
    //light.3 = 6, -14.00, 0.00, 0.00, fx_engine_Alpha Viggen
    light.4 = 9, -11.00, 0.00, 0.00, fx_Miro_AB // From the great Mirage - Fits perfectly!
    light.5 = 1, 5.25, 0.00, 2.80, fx_shockwave_beaconb_lowl
    light.6 = 1, 13.25, 0.00, -2.50, fx_shockwave_beaconb_lowl
    light.7 = 2, -14.70, -15.00, -1.40, fx_shockwave_strobe_sm
    light.8 = 2, -14.70, 15.00, -1.40, fx_shockwave_strobe_sm_2
    //light.9 = 3, -8.75, -12.30, -1.40, fx_shockwave_navred
    //light.10 = 3, -8.75, 12.30, -1.40, fx_shockwave_navgre
    light.11 = 5, 19.25, 0.00, -4.00, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

    There is a Buffalo paint for the Stone PBY. Be nice to have one for the Alpha.

    There is a paint by Heather Sherman at Flightsim for the Alpha PBY, fictitious but really nice.

    Well, I was fortunate to crawl through the real thing (You won't believe how cramped it is!) and get a few shots, so...

    why is it i ALWAYS get sidetracked?! *sighs* oh well, it's a break from the norm i 'spose .... ignore the KLU (Koninklijke Luchtmacht)roundel on upper wing it's there on the paintkit and i haven't started the wings.... tailplane.... then markings.... sheesh a lot of work repainters have to do when you think about it....

    Hi, Matt. Not sure if this will help, but this site has some references to the colours.

    ..Which is why there's no scenery in the shots..

    LOL! I reckon if you went to the spot view and looked at the model for about 30-40 seconds with "no scenery in the view" that would be enough time for the sim to get it's stuff back together and make the scenery "un-fuzzy"...

    The repaint is exquisite.... wonder why it has such an adverse effect on the scenery in FS? There are 2 more repaints by the same chap, one a "Black Knight" scheme and the other is a "Last Flight" scheme. I'll have a go with those too and see how it works out.

    I can't remember having this problem before though; I used to race this 'Lightning bolt' through the Norwegian fjords at low level without scenery problems in the past.

    Maybe its the same issue as with Dave Garwoods Hunters, i think the fix is openning up the textures in DXTBmp and saving with no mips, its been a while and ive forgoten exactly what to do, hopefully some other forum member may fill in the blanks,
    cheers ian

    I had this same issue with some of Dave Garwood's models, specifically the Hawker Hunters... all of them. Buggar!!! There is an excellent Saab 105 model out there as well that also does this to my FS. Too bad, I really liked flying the 105... alot of thought and research went into creating that model, and it was "eye candy" in the spot view. At some point a few chaps here were looking at what may be the cause of this problem but I don't think a solution was ever found. At least I never heard of a solution for it.

    I am going to put the "Knight Orden" textures in for the Viggen and have a go with them. They were done by Pierre also.

    EDIT: I just opened up the textures with DXTBMP for the "Knight Orden" version. There aren't any mips (that I could tell), but I did see that it has an alpha channel for all of the fuselage parts.
