    Freeware EC-135 Released

    http://www.flightport.de/index.php?id=427

The site is in German but it should be pretty obvious how to download it. It's a very nice quality freeware Eurocopter EC-135.
The team that made it I believe is called H&S Design.

Or if you don't want to deal with downloading 3 .rar files, Hovercontrol has now hosted it as a single .zip file available here:

    http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/...ip&img=&tt=zip

EDIT: Just to add, this package comes with all 5 skid variants, and glass and analogue cockpits.
Rescue, Police and VIP versions which are all configurable via a couple 2d popup gauges.
So you can loadout how you want it.
If I remember reading right, 50+ possible variants in all.
Paint Kit, and Manuals in German and English are included in a MISC folder as well.

Defintely recommend RTFM in this case.

After a quick first glance in the sim, I can easilly recognize that this addon is clearly one of the most IMPRESSIVE piece of freeware I have ever seen.
Moderators, I believe this topic should be sticky. This is without a doubt a MAJOR announcement.

Yikes.... Can't start the thing lol... (rtfm)

The FDE feels like an airplane... not that I've got EC35 time hehe. Maybe it's really easy in real life...

Anyway I've made some progress, but I've got flashing yellow bars and idle.... anyone know how to get rid of those?

Great find, just took my first hop in it and found it works as advertised. Now to find time to fly all the possible configs.

    Ryan,

This addon does seem to have a pretty "user friendly" flight model. I have real world flight experience in a larger Eurocopter model (Dauphin) and that thing is as sensitive as can be, so I imagine that they decided to keep fairly tame for this release. Makes sense too, since you don't have all of the peripheral and just "feeling" clues while flying in the sim compared to real world helicopter operations, unless you have a multi-thousand dollar cockpit setup.

This EC-135 (at least the variations I've tried so far, not sure if the cockpit configuration changes) has a FADEC system, which basically means that you just have to flip a few electrical switches, followed by the starting switches on the main panel from off, to idle, then to flight, in order to fly. Not sure what the yellow bars could be specifically, but make sure that your inverters are on, avionic switches on, generators on, etc. Just a matter of flipping the right switches. Again, the FADEC engine switches have three modes, off, idle, and flight, so make sure that when you are ready to fly, you're in the right setting!

EDIT: I hope a mod stickies this. It's a very high quality freeware release that, despite being a "dreaded" helicopter, deserves recognition.

EDIT 2: Just had the idle issue myself. When starting up as usual and ready to fly, put the engines in flight mode, then re-cycle them to idle briefly, then go back to flight. That cleared it for me and everything seems fine.

I made a few screens yesterday, to show the effects of the configuration manager popups, as well as the VC and the exterior model

Trully an excellent addon. I had the yellow flashing MFD too, but I have not installed the patch yet.

    Hello

In first a great congratulation at H&S Design for your incredible work, your EC-135 is awesome

If I write this message it's because I meet a problem with on model of your pack: ADAC DHBLN / Rundi / Norm.
With the ADAC DHBLN the 2 data of my CPDS are too down, as it's not easy to explain I join you one screenshot:

    Name: 7736493496_416c8a8e4e_b.jpg
Views: 885
Size: 44.7 KB

With my other EC-135 everything is OK but with the same serie of the ADAC DHBLN / Rundi / Norm I meet this problem...

EDIT: I've installed your patch "H&S_Design_EC135_X_Patch_1" and the problem is still here...

Please can you tell me if this bug with your ADAC DHBLN you meet the same problem like me or not ?

PS: I'm very sorry for my poor English...

A great thanks in advance for your help, best regards. Skulleader
