I'm afraid I also agree, Having looked I can't see what the problem can be either. A clean 'C' variant would be much appreciated Dino, if I ever stop flying the B model that is!! What a spectacular model this really is!!!![]()

Yep, not to pile on, but I'd really like a clean C variant as well. I only like to haul weapons in combat sims. in FSX, I'm simulating "Edwards Test Pilot."
Please, Dino? I think we've reached "popular demand."![]()
Havn't bought it yet though I'd also appreciate a clean C variant
Figured some of you guys in love with the B might be interested that theres a WIP thread over on the Flying Stations site for a CVF Queen Elizabeth class carrier.

"Thou shalt maintain thine airspeed lest the ground shalt rise up and smite thee"
Actually, if you do not use the NAV1 radio (or the AI carrier doesn't have an ILS), you can still approach the carrier in Hover mode, by manually setting the forward speed slightly above carrier speed with airleron trim commands (the set Target speed is visible in the HMD).
Changing pitch attitude (i.e. dropping the nose to gain forward speed) isn't possible in Hover mode; the automation prevents this
Regards, Rob B.
On final to the carrier.
And a few with the B variant (while it was in beta):

What a great plane Dino ! You and the others who created this magnificent aircraft should be proud of yourselves. Thank you very much.
Yeah got it figured and configured now lol, I have to say what an awesome and totally unique way of controlling jets, its so much easier than the harrier, but still does not distract from the fun, because techniqually we now have no excuse not to hit the landing spot you were aiming for, every time and in all weathers! Haha

Just out of curiosity,
has anyone tried it in Prepar3d? I have not tried it yet, but I saw that the guys at Lockheed Martin are making an extensive use of the previous version...
I believe F-35A and -C should work without problems... not sure about the F-35B...
So I don't mess up, where do I put the Alternate_strut_textures?
Works perfectly in P3D Dino and FPS are excellent. Checked out the 'B' hover systems and 'Ctrl+4' / 'Ctrl+6' forward / reverse work fine. Nimitz 112.0 Tacan works 100% and hover speed matches carrier speed too.
F-35C traps and launches on AI carriers just fine.
As a side note, I've noticed in FSX and P3D that full throttle position doesn't always engage reheat... I have to 'back off' the throttle to about 70%, then to 100% again to get the burner lit. Not a major pain though!

@XLR8
As indicated in my blog F35A_2_T.dds goes into SimObjects/Airplanes/F-35A/Texture/ subfolder ....F35B2_T.dds goes in the SimObjects/Airplanes/F-35B/Texture/ ...and so for the C
Each version has a generic "Texture" folder with all the "common" (not paitscheme specific) texture.
@Dave Torkington
Great, thanks!
I was waiting for news of Prepar3d 2.0 before jumping in...

Hello Dino,
One more awesome repaint for this incredible addon.
EDIT:
Dino, please is it possible to have one F-35C without bombs, missiles, externals fuel tanks under the wings ?
In fact to have one F-35C empty under the wings like your F-35 A & B ?
I join you two photos like I would like have one F-35C:
Other photo :
A great thanks for your work, best regards. Olivier
