Thread: A-26 Invader Expansion

  1. #16
    We have these two in progress. Eight of the Grumman "Stoof" series have been released.

    The Lockheed Harpoon is in progress; it may be followed by a Lodestar. Textures, sounds and cockpit all all in final stages of work.

    And, the Grumman series is in process of being converted to FSX native. Here is the first one as dvj posted over in that forum.

    If you have a twisting joystick for rudder control then in the
    Code:
     [brakes]
    section of the aircraft.cfg file add this line

    Code:
     differential_braking_scale = 1.0
    then all you have to do is twist stick while pressing your brakes key; turn left plus brake = left wheel brake,
    turn right plus brake = right wheel brake, release rudder and press brake = both wheel brakes

    IIRC a was posted in the A-26 thread if you don't have twisting joystick or pedals.

    I dont have a twisting joystick.

    Tom,

    You could try using differential brakes to stear. Off the top of my head, I think the keys are: F11 and F12.
    Keep your airspeed up,

    Open the aircraft.cfg in your A26 folder with Notepad.

    Find these statements and follow directions to change:

    [contact_points]
    max_number_of_points = 7
    //No pedals?//Want ruddercontrol? //Remove slashes from the Red line; put slashes in front of the Blue line.

    //point.0 = 1, 10.85, 0, -8.033, 1600, 0, 1.504, 40, 0.248, 2.5, 0.9, 3, 3, 0, 140.8, 235.84
    point.0 = 1, 10.85, 0, -8.033, 1600, 0, 1.504, 180, 0.248, 2.5, 0.9, 3, 3, 0, 140.8, 235.84

    Then, start FS. Under the menu item Aircraft/Realism Settings, make the following change.

    The setting in the FS2004 options ? .. yes it will apply to all your aircrafts
    Maybe it's desirable as you don't have a twisting joystick (or rudder pedals) so you can even change of direction when taxiing with the ailerons command IMHO

    I've been flying FS and CFS for almost 15 years and have never had a set of pedals. Twist stick joysticks aren't that hard to find or expensive. Especially when compared to a set of pedals.

    I got mine at WalMart, but that was a few years back. Tiger Direct or New Egg should have them for online purchase if you want to go that route.

    I just remembered something when I did what you told me to do. It came up with do you want to save changes when I did it then said the file already exists do you want to replace it. So when I clicked yes it came up with access denied.

    What change are you referring to? The aircraft.cfg?
