Sounds good! With a yellow French Air Force skin it will be perfect (Algeria war period 1954-1962)!

Finding help on FS modelling is a bit hit and miss, but FFDS and FSDeveloper are the main resources I know of these days: I use them both a lot. The main emphasis is building for FSX, but modeling is still modeling and I wouldn't have got as far as I have without them. I also learned a lot from Milton Shupe's C162 for FS9 tutorial series and Gerard's Low-Poly Modeling tut.
You can always ask questions here too...

thanks looked where you told me to look it was for fs9 but no cfs3 stuff so I will go back to racing sims where it is more straight forward and more help files instead of riddles my issues cannot handle the this I can build but I have no clue where or how to put the in cockpit in where to put the map to it it is not in the plane directory just the md3 file sorry deleting harvard cause I am not going to get pissed off over this and throw my laptop across the room. due to my mental state and the drugs i am on from the VA I can build planes all day but the cockpit is out of my reach so if someone would like to help build the cockpit and walk me threw it then I might be able build my own messed with the red cockpit got all the animation working but don't know what to do with it mow cockpit 100 times bigger tan the plane i can scale it down but the maps have me confused as will just one big confused vet here and it is driving me crazy.
Sorry
Taz
hey, Taz,
don't despair! I'm sure everyone went through the same process with G-max! I know you want this to be a payware project, but may I suggest that you treat this first project as a learning exercise, and reach out for help? A lot of the latest aircraft for CFS3 have been truly collaborative exercises - different people have contributed different aspects - the flight dynamics, the skin, the mesh etc.
Given the enthusiasm for seeing this model brought into CFS3, I am sure you will be able to find people who can assist with the intricacies of modelling the cockpit. The speed with which you have produced this model is impressive, you clearly have a lot of talent so I hope you can accept the need to "slow down" and work through this present difficulty
all the best,
D
I have asked for help in the past before I went payware due to the fact no one wants to help they just want my tools and my work if people help out on this i will remove the payware so who ever wants to do the cockpit please step up cause I am done with it and off to another plane cause that is where i have fun when I see how the cockpit and all go together then i will proceed to payware prefer donationware or donations to support the site other than that I would build planes and let someone else do cockpits cause i am building a 1938 ??????? hehehehehehehe plane cause some one said they would like to see more civil planes in cfs3.
Taz
CFS3 does serve as a civil aircraft sim also, so that would be Awesome...................oh is it possible to add some Avhistory weapons, like a different xpd, such as my sloppy yet useful RAF Me-262 skin does
Taz, have you looked at the P47 model that comes with the gmax cfs3 sdk? It shows how the cockpit fits into the model.
Also, you can either model the pit in with the externals or model it seperately. I find it easier to model it in with the exterior to start with then save it as a seperate one as it gets more complicated. You can map to any texture(s) you like and those textures go in along with the rest of them.
This is the Tiggie model, I'm just starting on the pit. The node ' cockpits' is attached to the top level 'Tiger'

I do the same, then merge the VC model with the exterior before exporting the lot to CFS3. The sdk models (P-47 and Ju-88) are a valuable resource, lots of answers to be found there.
Don't be put off by Milton's tut being for FS9, he shows how to form a basic cockpit for his C162 and it's pretty much how 'tis done: the only real difference at this stage between FS9 and CFS3 is how the model's hierarchy is organised for each sim.

still no luck put the cockpit in there like picture shows and all i get is empty space no plane just runway so I am not going to waste my time with cockpits anyildmore spent moretime rescaling everytime and no luck
red
cockpits
cockpit_virtual01
red LOD 100 and get nothing but runway.
sad i can build a plane but a cockpit kick my tale
don't know what i am going to do at this point real pissed off about it cause it should work
Taz
Sounds like the aircraft file and the cockpit files have different names if you are just seeing the runway
Taz, can you post a gmax screenshot please of the hierachy as I have done?

I Didi it like the p-47 and what you done and the only thing i get is runway or the cockpit showing i removed the plane and working to where either i see it or i don't never see the cockpit and cannot get the texture to show on the model so i am lost and getting to the point maybe it is time i leave this stuff alone and go back to race sims not sure

Have you placed an Eyepoint0 in the VC hierarchy? Without one, CFS3 defaults the pilot's viewpoint to the model's 0,0,0 point. In the case of the stock CFS3 models, this would place the viewpoint at the tip of the prop spinner - wouldn't see anything but the runway from that...
EDIT: now I see your screenshots and no, there isn't an eyepoint defined. Now you know!
