    Carenado Expands Fleet Into FS9

    This is great news

    Well done Carenado.

    Thank you.

Çarenado announced the start of new projects developed for FS2004. Due to numerous posts and emails from customers claiming they have been left abandoned in FS9, Carenado invested in a new technique which allows porting some FSX developed aircraft into FS2004. Within the next months Carenado will "test" the market releasing a couple of FS2004 aircraft.

The feasibility of the project in time will depend on the number of people acquiring FS2004 aircraft for that platform. This means each aircraft will be developed considering the previous aircraft behavior in terms of demand.

Even though FS2004 technology does not allow aircraft like the ones in FSX in term of visuals and technology, Carenado will provide a very good representation of the actual aircraft their first release will be F33A Bonanza FS2004 which will be released in the next days. Pictures will be available at the
Çarenado website along with further details

I applaud their decision to scale down for the FS9 market. I hope that they get enough sales to make it worth their while.
One way for them to gauge I interest might have been user polls on eligible airplanes they are considering for the process and then work on the most desired ones.

While I generally like the Bonanza family of airplanes I am not sure that this offering will garner "huge" sales numbers in FS9 form.

    Cheers
    Stefan

I, too, applaud Carenado's decision to re-enter the FS9 market. It does remain to be seen how the new FS9 conversions of their FSX/X-Plane/P3D models shake out. One thing's for sure, though. I'll be purchasing these new FS9 planes if for no other reason than to see how Carenado's technology has advanced since their old FS9 days. Good news for GA flyers, thats for sure!

I'm hoping that the Cessna 337 and Caravan are considered for the FS9 market

I'm exited to see this. I hope sales are sufficient to make it worth their trouble. I really like Carenado models, most of my flying is GA anyway. I'll probably pick up the Bonanza just to give them a boost (funds permitting). I'd like to see them convert their C-340 and C90.

The news release suggests that they're using some new method to compile FSX models for FS9 rather than building new models. If I'm reading that right it sounds pretty interesting. I hope some other developers might look into that, maybe it would reduce the cost of doing dual versions of models to the point that developers would just automatically do it.

Great news that another clever workaround has been found for FS9, I'm hoping the high-poly compile is part of the mix.
A model that betters the FSD 337 in FS9 will be tough... but if they produce it, I will come!

Even though I no longer "fly" FS9, I am happy to see Carenado port FSX releases into FS9.

The F-33A Bonanza is now released! I just finished downloading the file and am about to install...
I REALLY hope they bring us FS9ers the C-337, AC 114, and the C90! Especially the C90, I am a sucker for Beechcraft twins of any description...

    It's a good one

Lionheart's departure from FS9 made me think the high-poly planes weren't going to make it into FS9 after all.
    But Lo! look at this:

Goodonya Carenado... the rest of the plane ain't half bad, either.

Wow, this is much more detailed than the older FS9 products.
I bought three of them about 8 years ago, and am still including the Bonanza to my favourites.
Things I never liked about the Carenado models are the blue tinted perspex textures (so kitchy), needed to colourize them, and the 'aggressive' strobes. Easy to fix, but I can't believe they carried on doing it...
All in all, I don't see the point in buying the new packages if you already have the originals, as they are still topnotch and competitive.
This is the original with colourized glass:

I installed mine last night, loaded it so I could crawl all over the exterior and interior, admire the various paints, then take it for a short flight around the patch.

To me it's comparable to their C185 in terms of model and texture detail and quality. Textures in and out were typical top notch Carenado. I used their Cessna 185 as a point of comparison because I believe it was their most recent FS9 release.

Where I saw the biggest difference between the new F33A the C185 was the vc instrument panel. The C185 is pretty nice, but the F33A is really, really, really nice. As a former A&P I tend to be overly fussy about the appearance of vc's, especially the panel and instruments, and I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it.

All-in-all I'm very happy with it, I hope Carenado chooses to do some more.

I dunno about the rest of you, But I really am enjoying this one. As I pointed out above, I have a queer soft spot for Beechcraft products and this fills all my expectations and desires...
I do really look forward to the Carenado Beech Baron and King Air C90 for FS9 (if they ever arrive) for exactly that reason, though in all fairness, it is rather unlikely that anything will ever beat the excellent Dreamfleet Baron.
One thing I do like about this release that bears mentioning is that unlike previous Carenado FS9 releases, this one appears to be bug-free right out of the box. I can't find anything to complain about.
