    ....THE 4th OF JULY...2012

This day “ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires, and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more,” said John Adams to wife, Abigail, in July 1776.

I am going to celebrate Independence Day in the best way I know how....by grilling thick burgers, onions, pineapple rings, hot dogs, sausages and eating all that with piles of potato salad, macaroni salad, tater chips, ice cold cans of soda and even icier cold bottles of beer (okay....got to be honest here....I HATE most American beers. So today I will be drinking beers to honor the nation we broke away from....England....have a six pack of New Castle Brown Ale in the fridge). Once I have eaten to the point of popping, I will sit in my comfy chair, in the air conditioning and watch a couple good movies on the big screen.

    Happy Independence Day!

the way things are these days, america would be better off celebrating independence day by taking back her freedom. the way the "founding fathers" did.

Well, OBIO, I've already gotten to the "popping" stage once today. Now I'm waiting a couple hours before heading out to the Dairy Queen for a extra large chocolate milkshake.

    Happy Fourth to everyone...

Edit: I don't think any of us can compete with the fellow who ate 68 hot dogs today....LOL

Ever body remembers that guy but no one seems to want to remember the lady competition. Winner set a world record (for ladies) with, if I recommember rightly, 45. All, something like 85 lbs of her, was better than the guy winner for me.

Hmm, insert your own witty saying here --
