    Lionheart Creations Discontinues FS2004 Models

    Hey all,

Im sorry. I know this will make some of you FS9 pilots upset.

I am formally announcing that my firm will discontinue making FS2004 models here-on.

I was mainly making them as I still flew in FS2004. I couldnt stand FSX. So many problems, unstability, etc, etc, etc. I have since aquired Prepar3D, and I have become addicted to it, and have not been to FS2004 since. There is just no comparison. P3D runs well, shines with details, I have clouds, traffic, cars on the freeways. I love it. Its been my new skies.

When I did payroll for my small team the other day, out of 6 vendors world wide, I had only sold about 3 FS9 planes last month. The rest were all FSX / P3D.

The amount of work involved in making 2 planes (FS9 and FSX SDK's) is too great and with no profit. It only makes sense (no brainer) to discontinue FS9 works.

    Im sorry.

FS9 was my only sim for many years. I only tested in FSX. I almost quite FSX to go to FS9 only. I now have Prepar3D, a solid sim, it uses FSX technology, so I can make planes for both it and P3D.

    I hope you all understand.

I hate to hear it Bill, but understand completely. If the money's not there, it's just not there. You made a lot of really good stuff for FS9 and I have a bunch of it installed.

    Bill,

you stuck around FAR longer than most, we are very proud of you for that, you did a very decent thing when the rewards were probably small. I for one salute you and thank you for all the planes you gave* us.

Go forth and prosper my friend,
    Jamie

*technically sold us, but they were so good they feel like a gift.

    Wow!

I was one of only three FS9 people worldwide taking advantage of your Aerospool offer last month? I feel exceptional!

I love every one of the aircraft you made for us. While I am sad there won't be any more for FS9 I do understand your reasoning behind the decision.
With the rave reviews for Prepared3D it might just be time to add that simulator to my selection so I can take advantage of what ever you plan on building in the future.

Do you still plan on fixing the small COM selection issue on the Avelina I had mentioned to you ??
It is certainly no show stopper if you decided against that.

    Cheers

FSX is strong in VFR and hence GA flying.
FS9 has a strong user base in airline and military flying, so a different market.

Be interesting to see what P3D picks up, I presume at the expense of FSX.

In the freeware world FS9/FSX splits about 35/65.
In certain areas there is a resurgence of interest in FS9, people are coming back to its strengths which is great.

Good luck, Bill, when FS9 finally exhausts itself, P3D will be ready and waiting for us!

When I dig into it for updating things, that will be tackled.

I think I can safely say, I truly loved FS9. I cant believe I have been taken from it. Prepar3D does a great job for me. The details are just too nice.

Thanks Bill for keeping us supplied with great 2004 creations for so long.

If I ever upgrade to P3D at least I'll know where to come to pick up some great models.

    Wishing you all the best.

    Pete.

Drat! Couldn't you have made this decision AFTER doing a ultra high resolution Fairchild F-24 Bubble Cowl package for FS9?

    Bill,

I fully understand your decision. A company is only as strong as it's bottom line.....and if producing FS9 models resulted in man hours of labor for little to no return on those man hours....then the FS9 models were bringing your company down.

I have a couple of your payware packages for FS9 (can't remember what they are right now.....The Elite something (single engine turbo prop job) or other and the W-34 package I think it is........and I had the Operation Valkerye package that you gave out as a Christmas present or something....but lost it in a HD crash not long after getting it) And I have a couple of your payware FSX packages. All really nice from top to bottom.....but to be honest....the planes of yours that I fly the most are your older freeware Fairchilds collection, the Cessna AW collection and the Aeronca LWC. Those are more in line with my aircraft tastes.

So, if you EVER decide to do a new build of the Fairchild F-24 Bubble Cowl.....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make one for FS9.....that plane I will buy!

Bill, no problem with your decision. We are all grateful for the excellent products you have provided to us in FS9. I assume you will still keep the FS9-specific packages like the Bellanca and Junkers W-33/34 available on your website?

Bill - an unfortunate circumstance for some of us. but the future beckons and we all must move toward it in our individual way. thanks so much for all the tremendous things you have done for us FS9ers over the years and KEEP 'EM FLYING!

    not so fast.......

I have flown FSX for a couple of years and have farted around with Prepar 3D for a couple of months. Prepar 3D has been removed from my hard drive as it doesn't currently offer enough over my current FSX installation; my current FSX install is stable and fluid enough for me. I still have FS2004 installed as I do every now and then fire it up to fly the aircraft that don't play nice in FSX. I should add that I had more fun with FS2004 over the years than I have with FSX.
