having been aircrewman on P-3 for 12 years...I am watching from the wings. Having done many engine starts and high powers I'm interested to see how close she is for start up. Watch those APU temps!
Another absolutely fantastic bird Raz! I see these doing touch and go's at McChord all the time. I had a 4 year break in service and when I tried to get back in, the only branch taking prior service was the Navy and the only two choices were P3 aircrew member (maybe ASW more generally) or subs. ASW had a certain appeal, as I grew up with the Tom Clancy "Hunt for Red October" and thought how cool it owuld be to be on one of these, searching thousands of miles of ocean or patrolling the GIUK. Anyway, Army re-opened prior service for Infantry and the rest was history. Still think they are great looking planes though and love the sound of the 4 turboprops when they pass over.
....my other Stryker is a 2012 Challenger......

im ashamed to say i dont know what model the P3's of the now closed Aero Union were...but when Norm Cook had my folks and i down to McCellan to see them before the sale...he wouldnt let me clime the aluminum folding ladder cause i was to heavy......ack.....im sure others will say it..you guys at Razbam may even have bet on how long it would take...but please?..and areo union bird??
As far as I know they were Alphas and early Bravos. I saw a couple on the ramp one year at Fresno and noticed that they were VP-65's old B models having served both in 65 and the SAU at Pt Mugu, VP-0919. If they are going for the type used in the 80's then they will be P-3C Update III birds. Hopefully one texture set will be VP-65.
