I tried it on FSX (32bit) in W7 64. The Tokyo Business trip mission in the Bell chopper, which is for some reason always a bit of a resource hog. It still is but with this device it at least is playable which it wasn't before. Now Fps are in the mid 20's wereas before they were in single figures. Early days, but I think we may have a winner here.

    Not to worry.

I realise that - I wanted to test it on mdlc as there is no patch for that program to make it compatible with Win 7 64bit.

    Hint

    Guys
Go through mission builder and edit missions-increase the planes of squad and you'll see the difference. By the way thinking that needs to upload here so everybody even new players can have it. i'll try tonight when i'll be back home.

    cheers

You have to understand the CFS2 AI inorder to command them.

Why walk when you can ride

It is not what CFS2 is doing but what it looks like it is doing that counts

Tried it last night - no objective results yet, but first impresion is good! Increased frame rates, checked with Norton 360, seems alright. (Win 7/64) Looks like a nice find!

3/ most of games .exe ( especially the old ones ) seeing only 2 gb of ram even if you have more. patching the exe makes it to see 4gb. Now i'll tell you a small story. Last January i bought a new motherboard and i increased the ram from
4 gb to 16gb (as you know only win7*64 can recognize it-if you have xp-vista-win 7*32, pc can recognize only 4gb). So i made 2 installations (bob and eto late) and the game was running perfect even i had a lot of planes converted from fs9 such as-wop fw190, wop me 109 spitfire, p-51 cwdt p51 and a lot more. Problems began (a lot of ctd) when i started with pto early and had a lot of scenery -usios ships and of course planes such as wop a6m5 ah f4u ah p38- sky unlimited p38. Then i pissed of cause i had spent a lot of money and i couldn't play. I stopped for a while and started with another sim. There i had the same till someone in the forums gave me the link for that patch. i patched the "game".exe and now runs fine. i'll sent you via pm a youtube link to show you what i mean.
    a/make a backup of your cfs2.exe
b/run the patch and guide it to cfs2.exe
    give the game a go

    hope that helped
    cheers
Is there any way to get it to recognize more than 4Gb RAM if you have it?

I was planning to build a computer dedicated to CFS2 only for my simpit with 16 or more Gb RAM and an I5 processor and run XP on it. Since CFS2 can not recognize more than 4Gb RAM this seems a moot point. Unless the high end processor and video card would also make a frame rate difference. Even with the patch running now on my currrent PC (3 Gb RAM and 64 dual core processor) my F/R with 16 AI B-17's on screen (with AI bombs as suggested by Rami) by Brunswick13 still drop to 20 FPs until I turn away from them and they're no longer on screen. I was hoping to get 40-70 no matter what I put on screen. Whats the highest Gb RAM and processor I can run with XP or do I need to go to Win7* 32 or 64 to get my framerate up? I'm old school PC savy = just keep adding RAM and Processor speed so I'm lost when it comes to 32 and 64 bit systems LOL

What an absolute treasure it is. I'd kind of fell out of love with CFS2 because I have a decent spec PC but I was having awful frame rate problems that rendered a lot of aircraft unusable.

Patched with this gem and went straight to the jugular. Blackburn Skua by Jed Marsh.

Aircraft looks great but as soon as I went to use it just one on the screen would render my PC a gibbering wreck.

With the patch? Attacked a formation of 8 and smooth as a babies arse.

I'm now drooling over the other aircraft I can finally use. Thank you!!!!
