My oldest brother, who is enduring a love/hate relationship with his '94 Jeep Wrangler (in the process of installing another engine and trans), was just explaining his theory to me about Chrysler products today... He is convinced that the five-pointed star is a form of pentagram, and that the pentagram and the 'ram' logo represent some kind of satanic involvement with this make of automobile...
In general, experiences and stories like these are why I stay away from Chryslers, and most modern cars in general... I've never owned a car newer than 1978 (by choice), and manage to keep them on the road pretty cheaply, with help from eBay and the local auto parts stores...
These are what I drive these days...![]()

There is a beautiful Pontiac Catalina convertible for sale on the way to work. A creamy white with black rag top. Super clean. Late 60s era...not real sure on the exact year.....beautiful car regardless of the year.
I do miss the days of non-computerized cars. A carb, a set of points, 8 plugs and duel exhaust...what more does a car reallly need?

Catalina, eh? I had a '68 Catalina convertible a long time ago- only paid $150 for it- patched the top with canvas rags, glue, and black paint (kinda tells you what shape it was in when I got it). But it was fun, and ran like the devil! How ugly was it? I got caught speeding with it once, and when the officer asked me what color it was, I just laughed...
ive said before..i started my "hobby stock racing with a 64 GTO ..then rebodied it with a 66 tempest...
in the late 80s i saw a 67 pontiac bonniville convertable ...red body, white top, with white leather and vinal,2 door...i was in love and the guy told me 750,and it was mine...i had like 300 in my bank...ive never had money....and my dad has allways more or less controled my life..when i asked to borrow the money..all he said was..."i hate pontiacs"....i said.....not for YOU,ill pay ya back".....he tuned his back and walked away...we got in the truck to continue on to the job..i said..dad?..and he raised his hands and shook them, then raised his voice and said...im to nervous to deal with this.......story of my life...
i wanted a volvo PV544,was offered 3 of them for a total of 75 bucks..i bought the cars..my grandfather told me i could put them on his land/yard to restore the one...and my dad pitched a fit...and made me give the money back.....reason why?..he didnt like the car......its a good thing i really dont listen to him like that now...lol.....id like to take a PV 544 and put the chevy 572ci crate engine with one of the 6 or 8 speed auto transmissions....not sure what rearend id use...but what fun would that be?....BTW if keep as moch airflow as possible,,but muffle it as well as i could..and id put a sleeper type wire wheel on it or something...then blow thier doors off...LOL![]()
I don';t know about a big-block in a volvo but a 283 would fit right nice in one of those. One of my first vehicles was an old Volvo like that.I really liked that car.

i don't know if they are normally rwd, but that one is. it would make a nice dirt car, wouldn't it?![]()
WOW... My sister-in-law has a 'Smart-for-Two' that is yellow and festooned with 'Hello Kitty' stickers... the mental image of her car screaming around with a gixxer engine in it is just too funny... I wonder how complicated the retrofit is?
