2048 templates would give this one the chance she needs to really shine.
Gmax has a lot of hurdles. The last one I tried to leap over, I fell flat on my face.

I looked at the textures and because they are in dxt5 and have been re copied they are pretty ragged around the edges. If you just enlarge these textures they will much worse so to to enlarge them to 2048 textures would require complete repaint starting with 2048 or bigger. I have some work at the moment so maybe someone else would like to set up a rivet/panel line large base layer or texture in 32 bit.

I'm in the middle of making a paint kit as I go along with a repaint project. I'm resizing everything by doubling. I just noticed that the F bmp is mapped to both sides of the cowling. Perhaps an update can remedy this, as the F1 bmp is available.

FSX Grumman J2F Duck 2D Panel. A 4:3 ratio 2D panel created for SWingmans Grumman J2F Duck. There are two configurations. One has the normal compass and artificial horizon indicators, the other has Sperry Compass Heading Autopilot, Sperry AHI Pitch Autopilot and GPS. Both have new popup windows for the fuel gauges, pedestal, and radios. Included are some new gauges to allow mouse control of the battery, elec fuel pump, magnetos, engine primer, and starter in the virtual cockpit. The 2D instrumentation reflects the VC. My "FSX Grumman J2F Duck 2D Panel" was for the FS9 ported version, but, using it in FSX does work.
I'm in the process of making a revised version for the FSX native plane...Don

ok, i know this probably something dumb, but i'm not getting any sound. in the sound folder is only a sound cfg file. can someone tell me what i need to do please? i know there is a way to make it use the sound from another plane but i forget how to do it.

To Alias a sound to another plane:
    Sound.cfg:
    [fltsim]
    alias=Plane Folder Name\Sound Folder Name

    Mine is "alias=North American T-28D/Sound.PW-R2800x1"

    That sound set is "FS2004/FSX Single P&W R2800 Sounds"{single_p_w_r2800_sounds.zip} at flightsim...Don

What about for the J2F5? I only see improvements for the other 2 models, also is it safe to use the aircraft.cfg's included? You have to change the model= entry though.

So this is the best sound out there for this duck?

    Grumman Duck Sounds

I posted this originally, when the aircraft was originally released early last year. (It's also a good match for F3F's and F4F's)

-First, go to Flightsim.com, and download T28snz.zip: http://flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=78766
-Then go here and download the updated sound files for this soundset, by Javis: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...fo&FileID=2911

    Install these as outlined.

    - Now an additional bit I have done, to make it even more accurate, is add Wildcat gear sounds, which feature the ratcheting/bicycle chain sound of the gear retract/extension on those early Grumman landing gear designs, which you can download here and simply copy and paste into the sound folder you have from the previous steps, overwriting the files by the same name...

*Mind you, the sounds above won't be all that great with the default flight dynamics. With the updated flight dynamics made by Obio, the engine power range matches with the sounds, a ton better, and you'll get a better, more accurate power range with the sounds, using Obio's updated FDE's, found by scrolling down this page: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...ks.php?catid=8

    Don,

That would be awesome. After all the seperate "post" mini fixes here and there, a complete re do from stem to stern would be most appreciated.
