Hey All,
It was only a qualifier to get into the big show. Jr is running well - he'll do OK.
The good thing is the 48 is coming to life. Winning Hendrick his 200th last week - especially at the Southern 500 at Martinsville - and now winning another $1,000,000 (for the 3rd time). This is only Jimmie's 11th full time year in Cup - be good to get number 6 this year - that would give him 3 years to win number 7 maintaining his average of winning the championship every other year.
Pretty cool giving Rick Hendrick a ride ion his car down the front straight. Can't help but wonder how much of that audience is still angry about Rick Hendrick for:
From wiki...Some people still think people like Rick Hendrick should not be so successful - but hey is it any different for Wall Street bankers today? In 1997, Hendrick pled guilty to mail fraud.[5] In the 1980s, Honda automobiles were in high demand and Honda executives allegedly solicited bribes from dealers for larger product disbursements. Hendrick admitted to giving hundreds of thousands of dollars, BMW automobiles, and houses to American Honda Motor Company executives.[6] Hendrick was sentenced in December 1997 to a $250,000 fine, 12 months home confinement (instead of prison, due to his leukemia), three years probation, and to have no involvement with Hendrick Automotive Group or Hendrick Motorsports during his year of confinement. In December 2000, Hendrick received a full pardon from President Bill Clinton
Go Jimmie, Kasey, Jr and Jeff!

I'm torn with Hendrick.....
Incredible burn-out by Jimmie that's for sure & the pick-up was also a nice gesture.
That being said, Kasey Kahne & Jeff Gordon have had more bad luck than any one driver deserves......
And then there's Junior.....
Compared to previous years that was an incredibly boring race! I expect the Nationwide and NHRA races today to be much better than last nights sleeper.
IMHO,
It was a great race! Some 3-wide racing, some great strategy, and some good runs to the front....
