Then down to The Tillamook air museum in the Huge blimp hanger

It turned out to be a little roadtrip for me, myself and I. Enjoyed the museums and kayaking adventure. The sunset was the cherry on the cake. Good times.

Nice pictures!! Do they still have the F-14 Tomcat at the Tillamook Museum? Also, they allow tours into the guppy now? Cool!

Great pictures! The Spruce goose looks so huge. Howard Hughes would be so pleased that his "baby" is being looked after and kept under cover. There was talk of having it ripped up. Hughes got wind of it and stopped it from happening. Thank God it is still there. Thanks for sharing.

F-14 tomcat is still there with moving ladder up near cockpit so you can look inside. The Guppy you can pay 3.00 to go walk inside and up to the cockpit. I will upload a pic later that shows the inside of the guppy but photobucket is not letting me upload anything this morning. It was very cool being inside and looking at the actual cockpit ( since I own the A2A B377). LOL, i wanted to start her up since I new what all the buttons did.
Thanks you guys for comments on shots. On the wide angle shots I was using my Gopro camera. A very fun camera to use.
Jim
Couple more shots of Guppy. Inside the belly of aircraft and gopro shot of cockpit. For 25.00 I could of sat in the seat and got a photo of myself. If aircraft was in a little better condition up front I would of done it. It does need some love.
Jim
You could probably easily have the Cub take off running across the span of the Goose's wings.
I need to get back up to the Tillamook Air Museum, I used to love going there when I used to come down here as a tourist.. But, now that I live here it seems like I have more excuses to not go than to go...Need to get to the Evergreen Museum also.. Great pictures, thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing the photos! I wasn't aware that the Super Guppy was there. Interesting. Is the P-39 still in a back corner of the Tillamook museum?

LOL, ya..you are right there. Funny how these things are right in our own neigborhood and yet we never visit them. For me when I moved up to Seattle I though for sure I would go trail blaze Mt. Ranier and yet...13 years later have not even gotten close to a trip up there.
What you need to do is make a day of good food and then hit the museum like hitting Gallucci's pizzeria in Lincoln City then down to the Hanger and on way back hit McMenamins Lighthouse Brewpub with a nice. Ok that sounds fun, think I need to go back.
Jim
I put together a tube of the trip including Kayaking nice water not white water. Mainly for me but if ya want to see it go ahead click away.
