Description: Sikorsky R5

First flew in 1943, a two seat ( in tandem ) helicopter where the pilot flew from the rear seat.

The early model was also known as the HO2S ( USN and USCG ) and H-5 ( USAAF ) and was distinguished by its tail wheel.

Rapid development led to three- and four seat versions and a nosewheel, eventually leading to the S51 ( HO3S ) Dragonfly of Korean War fame.

This model comes in two versions - early model and YH-5A version of late forties.
