Thread: Basler BT-67 FSX (freeware 5th July)

A really great aircraft, I must say! Thank you all on the team!
One thing, is it on purpose that the gunship lacks the guns?

    Cheers,

Thanks again, wonky texture had a blocking layer missing, now corrected and in bugfix file, see link in post #86.

Yes, no guns on this gunship :( or should it be

  3. #93
    Well, I thought, that's what a gunship is for ... isn't it?

Somehow missed this one and just spent 2.0hrs in it, beyond amazing job and I can't believe this is FSX native and FREE!

Might have to add a CS weapons pack to the gunship, love the paint.

Thanks for the update! Which BT-67 was used as a "source" of cockpit configuration? I'm curious about the non-standard HSI and VSI placement

We had one day access to C-GAWI, and came back with 500+ pictures. CGAWI's panel is plastered over with gauges, ours is a rough approximation, as are other parts, too (overhead). We'll be happy to consider update options, have a sizeable list already, this'll be one of them...

A really good product here, but, I can't believe a real world airplane had an instrument panel in that configuration. First, having the bendix/king radios and the Garmins is a lot of redundancy. Using the panel for IFR operations in this configuration is a bit challenging. The HSI should be below the ADI, the VSI below the altimeter, the turn and bank below the ASI and replace the #2 glideslope indicator with the radio altimeter. I really have to question why the need for a suction gauge with those PT-6's providing all the power you need to run all the avionics you need. You don't see King Airs with suction gauges. If you have DME indicated above the ADI and on the Garmin, why the need for another DME in the radio stack? An addition of an altitude alerter would be nice. Again I would like to stress that this is a really good model, better than most payware and this criticism is meant to be constructive in nature. I have a lot of real world experience with this sort of stuff and would be glad to help with any changes. EDIT: Just had a quick look at C-GAWI's instrument panel on airliners.net and that is a really good looking panel more in line with what you would expect in an aircraft.

haven't had a chance to fire this up yet...

Is C-FTGX included in the pack? If not maybe one of our repaint artist's will consider taking it on as a project? It's been a regular sight over Ireland in recent years ...doing geo-surveys at low level (~200ft).

    Hello guys,

first of all let me say that I was really looking forward to this plane! I think it's a great addition to our virtual hangars. However, I think that the rudder could be a little more effective. When flying turns, the turn coordinator shows that more and more rudder input is needed the longer the turn lasts. That is not realistic. Second, if you try a side-slip, the rudder becomes less effective the more time passes by. Not realistic either. Would be great to have this fixed in a future update or something

    Best regards,

Are these repaint available? If so where?
    Thanks

The second is included, the first is a simple colour swap and rereg with some badge/logo removal on the latter... (Doing the same myself atm for want of blank textures)

Let me congratulate the developers for a fine job for this freeware aircraft. Thank you very much.

I am having one discrepancy, though. I have installed both the BT-67 Base pack and the gauge/texture update files.

When flying in the VC view with the autopilot engaged, the Heading Select button on the right of the HSI only turns counterclockwise. Thus I can only turn the aircraft to the left when changing the heading. A right turn is a 180 degree PLUS turn -- a long way around. It did this with only the Base Pack installed so the update was not involved.

Is this situation occurring with anyone else ??

Using left clicks only? Try right clicks or the mouse wheel. (Goes for other switches and knobs as well.)
