    Off Topic? On Topic?

I am in the process of enrolling in an Aircraft Dispatching course at a local college. One of the things I learned today is that, I suppose for continuity of some sort, the aircraft that they base everything on is the Boeing 737 series. Of course, the first question that popped in to MY mind was: which model of 737? Well, I never found that out, but it started me thinking, as a simmer, about what is a good 737 to put in to my FS9 installation. I am not - and never have been - a tube flier. So I really don't know which, of all the available 737s, would be the best to have. Maybe not "the best", but a good one. Product revues, please! Let it all hang out!!!

The only 73s I'm familiar with in FS(I'm sure others here might be more helpful)are:
The "classic series" by 50 North(payware, default panel and sound,no VC,but well worth it)
The 200 series(freeware,at the "usual sites")
    And Project Openskies NG series(freeware,http://www.projectopensky.com/index.php?app=downloads).

    Right on!

The 200 series 'Tinmouse II' (freeware) are just awesome - superb panel!

I'd totally agree with Nigel on the Tinmouse.

    Best free 200 series anywhere.

All the above are good but, if you are prepared to spend your hard-earned, the PMDG 737's are probably the best - only later (-600 and onwards) though.

I second the Moach 737-700. Comes in standard and winglet models. It is one of only a few 737's out there that has a VC. The POSKY 737-700 also has a VC but for some reason it's not that kind to framerates on my rig. IIRC you can find it and several repaints at flightsim.com as well as Avsim and SimV.

I'll give a thumbs up to the Moach 737-700 also. Nice vc, a good representation of the NG 737 (glass panel), and easy on frame rates.

It's an older model, but you'd never know it, and it's FREE!

My humble suggestion is to check out which mark of the 737 is most in use by airlines at this time, or at least the type of airline you're hypothetically scheduling aircraft for - then combine that answer with the information you've obtained above, all of which is good, and settle on the bird that represents that 737.

I'm just thinking about reducing the number of choices you may have to make by looking at the most up-to-date, in-use aircraft and selecting just from them.
