Thread: Oldpropfan C2C - Southbound again

  1. #46
Arrived at FLMP. Dicey weather as we left Nairobi but it cleared up nicely. Going to roll whats left of the fuel drums over to the plane, tank up, and continue on to Jo'berg. Might cut out early at Nylstrom if the fuel looks dicey.

Hit Nylstrom and decided we might just have enough fuel to make so on to Rand it was. Sticked the tanks at the ramp and had a whole 18 gals left, good thing I didn't have to hold for traffic. Weather has been great these last few legs, hope it holds for the final run into Cape Town.

Departing for Cape Town, hope there's some beer and hot dogs left when I get in.

And we're finally in Cape Town, now let's see if we can find whats left of the party. Thank you to the planners for a great and challenging event as always.

Great to see you in Cape Town. It's been a pleasure to follow along.

And having you here is another reason to raise a glass and tell a tall tale.

Thank you everyone, it was alot of fun following the trials and tribulations of the other pilots as we all made our ways north or south. I hear tell at the cantina that some are off to try and land perfectly good planes on ships. Don't think any good will come of that as this page from my LSO logbook shows:

For those that don't know, the WO is a wave off, and the C does not mean average. The C is bad, it stands for cut pass, and means I landed even after the LSO told me to wave off. What does he know though, any landing you walk away from right? I usually claim com failure after those landings.

Hope to see everyone at the next event, fair weather and following winds till then.

Yeah, LSOs think they know everything! Where did you get that vLSO program? That looks like fun. I could document my bad landings!

The latest version is at this link: http://www.gamefront.com/files/21688080/vLSO.zip

and the forum thread with info on the program is here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/ind...45464#msg45464

I'm running an earlier version, so I'm not up on what changes might have been made in the newest release.

Yes! Congratulations on a valiant and successful effort oldpropfan.

BTW, The olympic committee gave you all 10's across the board on your Cape Town landing.

Don't be too concerned about those ship landings.

My efforts leave the crews sweeping up nuts and bolts more often than not .
