Truly a sad day... Jan is one of the most talented designers, he will miss the FS community a lot!!! But as he says in his post " when your heart is no longer at it...", time to stop... He had the decency to explain what he was thinking, great man Jan Visser!!!

Actually, it's quite common. It is all about having one's sensibilities affronted by others' attitudes.

'Skinners' [in all walks of life - forms] come and go. The 'originals' who started it all in GUI skinning have 'mostly' gone..... the 'art' originated in the 90's...so a decade and a half later you expect people to have moved on.
I'm sure the guys who did maps/patches for Wolfenstein 3D are probably pushing up daisies by now....

When REAL talent/contributors leave, the 'rest' who remain are diminished.

But may their future prospects/endeavours be good ones...

i cant say what..but jan did something for me that was extremely nice,i had made a comment and it was missunderstood,and he "made it right"....he did not need to do anything other than say.."oh..i missunderstood,ok,lets move on"...but he didnt..he went over and beyond and did me a huge favor..i wont forget that..and i find it a shame he wont be working with the modeling anymore...but its his life and his needs....he needs to move on and into new adventures or what have you......hell for all we know he may just sit and watch anderson cooper and ellen degeneras all afternoon............or is that just me???
