At this stage I have no plans of doing any RAF paints as the model is 47 not HC 2 or 3

Its close enough, though i dont know the internal differences? This is from the Wiki page for the UK varients...

Chinook HC1

New-build aircraft for the RAF based on the CH-47C, 41 built.

Chinook HC1B

Modification of the 41 HC1s with metal rotor blades, survivors converted to HC2.

Chinook HC2

Conversion by Boeing of 32 surviving HC1Bs to CH-47D standard, and 3 new build-aircraft

Chinook HC2A

Similar to the HC2 with strengthened fuselage using milled structure manufacturing techniques, 6 built.

Chinook HC3

Special forces variant based on the CH-47SD, 8 built.

Chinook HC4/HC4A

HC2/HC2A aircraft with upgraded engines and avionics under Project Julius. 46 conversions planned.

Chinook HC5

HC3 aircraft with upgraded avionics under Project Julius.

Chinook HC6

New-build Chinooks announced in 2009, expected to be delivered beginning in 2014. Originally 24, later reduced to 14 aircraft^[60] (12 helicopters plus 2 attrition replacements).

the paint kit isnt something you can knock up a cam paint in a short time, so

ive done a quick HC2 RAF paint, i can add a cam paint to the list when time/motivation permits

Wow Jim, Thanks for the quick reply. I am not really a big helo fan but digging this one and it's great attention to detail. Although not a very sexy machine, it is the fastest helo in the US inventory and don't want to say it's the fastest production helo in the world, but that may be correct. I have heard of Apache pilots asking them to slow down, though many will not freely admit to it.

Matt if it wasnt for the milviz guys this wouldnt be as detailed as it is today, Im glad they took over and managed this, all the credits should go to colin and steve

That would technically be held by the British Army Lynx that was stripped down...

Nice one Jeansy. That particular Chinook (41+ years) is an old girl. There wasn't much info about it, but I was surprised seeing the listing of the crew and not the pilot.

Am I the only one who can't get the engines running on this helo? I've read the manual and can't figure out what I am doing wrong. If I switch from another helo that is running, the CH-47's engines spool down, and I can't get them to start again. And cold starts...nothing. I have checked appropriate forums but have found nothing on this.

that CH47 looks nice and it is a reasonable price tag
only thing that holds me off from purchase is the lack of an Italian Esercito Paint
