    Help with understanding keryboard assignments

    To All,

I have been going through the in-game list of keyboard assignments and was hoping to ask for some assistance on better understanding what exactly everything means.

With that in mind, can anyone please tell me what the following represent:
    Damage/Status Messages
    Flight Director on/off
    Full View
    Help (F1)
    Quick Reference Menu
    Radio Messages
    Select Item 1
    Select Item 2
    Select Item 3
    Select Item 4
    Set Zoom to 1X
    Slew Mode on/off
    Starter 1 on/off
    Starter 2 on/off
    Starter 3 on/off
    Starter 4 on/off
    Status Messages
    Switch gunsight (reflector/gyro)
    Toggle Tactical Display

Additionally, I was trying to find commands for the following but unsure what they are called:

    Extending/Retracting Flaps
Zooming in (seeing through binoculars at objects far away if this exists)
    Zooming out

Thank you in advance for your help.

A lot depends on the keyboard setup you chose on installing the product. Did you chose the cfs1 keyboard or the cfs2 keyboard. In the cfs2 setup flaps are F for extend in increments and V for retract in increments. Many of the settings don't apply but can be used for customized fuctions ie: extend/retract Concorde nose.

    Thank you Shadow Wolf!

The file you sent will be very handy!

I believe I have my keyboard set up as CFS2 (and not CFS1 option).

I guess what I was driving at was "What?" do those entries actually mean:

    Damage/Status Messages
    Flight Director on/off
    Full View
    Help (F1)
    Quick Reference Menu
    Radio Messages
    Select Item 1
    Select Item 2
    Select Item 3
    Select Item 4
    Set Zoom to 1X
    Slew Mode on/off
    Starter 1 on/off
    Starter 2 on/off
    Starter 3 on/off
    Starter 4 on/off
    Status Messages
    Switch gunsight (reflector/gyro)
    Toggle Tactical Display

    EG.
    What is "Slew Mode"?
What does "Select Item 1" mean or do?
    etc

Is the zooming in and out feature (like IL-2) defined in that file as:

    Tactical Display zoom in
    Tactical Display zoom out

I found the flaps command so 1 mystery solved.

I'll look forward to your response.

    My best shot:

Damage/Status Messages Displays a text of the damage you receive and of other objects (planes, ships, infrastructure) destroyed
    Flight Director on/off Unknown
Full View Full screen or "windowed" screen
    Help (F1) CFS2 Help window
    Quick Reference Menu Self explanatory
Radio Messages Turns on/off audible comms chatter
    Select Item 1 Unknown
    Select Item 2 "
    Select Item 3 "
    Select Item 4 "
Set Zoom to 1X Resets zoom to default view
    Slew Mode on/off See below
Starter 1 on/off Unknown - possibly for multiengine aircraft
    Starter 2 on/off "
    Starter 3 on/off "
    Starter 4 on/off "
Status Messages Displays a text of mission related messages. It also displays text of wingman messages
Switch gunsight (reflector/gyro) choose the gunsite you prefer
Toggle Tactical Display Turns on/off the window in the upper left corner of your screen, commonly called "radar" It has 4 settings= Air, Ships, Ground and Vehicles

    EG.
What is "Slew Mode"? Slew is a cheat engaged by the Y key that allows you to move verry quickly in the direction you move your joystick.
What does "Select Item 1" mean or do? Unknown
    etc

Is the zooming in and out feature (like IL-2) defined in that file as:

Tactical Display zoom in Bracket [
Tactical Display zoom out Bracket ]

    I hope this helps...

Thank you so very much for these definitions! :salute:

If I might inquire further, I typically enjoy flying in cockpit view ..... Do the tactical zoom commands zoom in and out from the cockpit or do something else (if so, what)?

If you happen to know, my apologies for burdening you further, but would you know what the following commands mean?

    - Starter 1 on/off
    - Starter 2 on/off
    - Starter 3 on/off
    - Starter 4 on/off
(Are these for multi-engined aircraft and basically represent the default single engine command "Engine autostart")?

    - Cycle coordinates/frame rate

    - Cycle label colors
(Does this change the label colors of Friends and/or Foe)?

I might have a few more.

I cannot thank you enough for your asisstance.

I believe these are for manually starting each engine, up to 4.

Cycle coords/frame rates = Hit Shift + Z and note the digital readout on the top left portion of your screen. Hit it repeatedly and it displays different data.
