Thread: FSx self shadowing

    FSx self shadowing

I've noticed for some time that self shadows tend not to line up with the actual physical part that causing the shadow, the shadow is always offset by a few inches. however on the Jetstream 41 the offset is appalling, the 3D cabin windows are creating mary hell with the shadow map, is this normal ?.

I suspect this is a bug buried deep in the sim, but this is the worst I've seen the effect, are there any other material layers anyone can add that helps move the shadow back into line with the physical part ?.

I still prefer rendered shadows myself but a fix or improvement on the self shadowing would be better.

    Best
