The version I have has two lights that can probably be removed -- #0 and #3.
Wingtips vortice effects are redundant in FSX since it provides them by default.Code:[lights] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing light.0 = 8, -16.00, -21.50, -1.00, fx_jaguarvortices light.1 = 8, -5.13, 15.91, 0.58, fx_buccwing_star light.2 = 8, -5.17, -15.91, 0.67, fx_buccwing_port light.3 = 8, -16.00, 21.50, -1.00, fx_jaguarvortices light.4 = 1, -16.38, 0, -2.90, fx_beacon light.5 = 10, 15.00, 0, 1.37, fx_vclight_red light.6 = 10, 12.58, 0, 1.37, fx_vclight_red

Well, had just five minutes of free time last night ... and it went to testing the S2.
First, I have to say, it looks awesome. Likely (in my view, at least), the best UKMIL model to date. The VC is quite sharp and fairly accurate, exterior nicely modelled. Nice touches include engine covers, opening radar nose compartment (didn't realize it opened in two parts - thought it was just one ? ) Pilot figures look good too. In short, a fantastic modelling job.
Had time only for a two quick circuits - not enough to evaluate the FDE to any meaningful level. Though I did notice the phantom vortice thing - will try commening those out and see what transpires. The other thing I'd really like to change is the R and L wing lights - they're MASSIVE globs of light. Will try and sub in a different light effect. Those look to be line entries .1 and .2. The beacon looks good though.
Substitute in some better landing touchdown effects (it's default, that massive white billoww cloud) - again, small little details.
Gaffer and crew - looks awesome - many thanks!!
Best regards,
DL

Basically to fit the aircraft on the RN's lifts the radar head folded through 180 degrees as a sealed unit (this helped reduce moisture ingress which deteriorates the radar's performance). To actually perform maintenance on the antenna assembly the radome itself could be separately opened.opening radar nose compartment (didn't realize it opened in two parts - thought it was just one ? )
Duh - folding wings - of course I can't replace them!
Gaff, that's a really kind offer. I would need a couple of days to get back to you on that, but if I do, that would really, really be appreciated. Alternatively, if someone else jumps in with an appropriate recommendation, that'd be awesome. My PERSONAL preference - and that's all it is (beggars and choosers, right?) is for a much smaller light - I can't think off the top of my head whose, but I think there's been some nice effects for some GA and airliners that are discreetly diffuse.
You guys did a great job on this - a nice array of paints. Looks like the recce pank didn't make it in - but hey - we're just picking nits now.
A massive thanks!
DL
PS - thanks for piping in Skip - I knew about the hinged-radome-for-lift-clearance issue, but I didn't know about the double opening sections - makes perfect sense!

Attached smaller versions of the stock NAV lights .fx files. If you're into DIY, it is not too complicated to apply them yourself to the existing MDL files: Open the MDL's with a text or hex editor, go to the last line and change the following text entries:
..fx_navwhih.. -> ..fx_navwhis..
..fx_navgreh.. -> ..fx_navgres..
..fx_navredh.. -> ..fx_navreds..
The ".." are the adjacent NUL chars, they might show differently depending on your text/hex editor. And of course, unzip the 3 new .fx files into your FSX Effects folder.

BTW: I got a test version of a much better new FDE which is being worked on by UKMIL member 3/7charlie, with that improvement the Bucc really rocks !

This is the only plane I fly at the moment, it is on a visit to Aussie LOL, flying out of Amberly, Richmond, Tindal & Pearce
Thank you for such a great Jet![]()
You take it easy.. and have a nice day
Hello Gaff,
Again, much appreciated.
Reference the recce pack, there's not a lot of photo info on it (at least that I've seen). Here's an image here:

and some more images here - and a bit of write up.

To be honest, it wasn't until I saw Ironclaw's SFP2 model that I really got a sense of what this might have looked like.
The pod, in-game, looks very much like what these images show.
I'll see what else I can dig up ...

You sir, are a phenom!
I can't wait to get back to my sim pc in a few days to give the model a detailed go-through.
Many kind thanks!!!

Hello all
Hello UKMIL,
I observed on my Buccaneer cockpit, it lacks an indication of the Mach number, a flag on the artificial horizon , and no active control on the RMI!
On the other hand on the left, Radio 2 is not displayed!
Is this normal?
Is there way to remedy these small inconveniences?
Thank you to you!
Alain
