New install

A pal in the States has been good enough to send me a free CFS3. Great guy! How can I tell whether I need to install any add-ons - for example, the big 'Expansion 1.0' etc that was necessary with early releases - before I embark on adding ETO? I can't see any dates of manufacture anywhere on the jewel case, instillation instructions or the discs themselves.
Appreciate any help here.

First, try and update to 3.1, then 3.1a and add the Mission Builder.

Once you've done that, you'll have your vanilla install - DO NOT MODIFY OR ADD TO THIS INSTALL! - which will be copied by the install programs of MAW, BOB, etc.
