Bump maps are different; if you're working with Adobe Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) you'll need the Nvidia plug-in for creating .dds textures. Available here. This will also invert the image for you when saving as a .dds file. I'd talk you through it but it's years since I did one and I need to check it out myself!! But you start from the line and rivet layers.

I'm not sure that this FS9 version will accept bump and spec files. Using them is a function of the materials of the MDL file. This FS9 model came out before FSX. I believe that the polish you mentioned is a result of the bump maps used by Marek Rys in his renderings.

You can also use ImageTool that comes with the FSX SDK for making the DDS files.

You can also take on more fuel by opening the refueling door. It's all in the documentation. We also included fuel level management so keep an eye on that or you can get in trouble fast.

No it won't accept spec files and bump map files at the moment; as you say it's still an FS9 portover that we're playing with. But when David releases the FSX-native version......!!!

I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.

At the moment I using DXTbmp to create the DDS DXT5 files. I'm looking at the alpha channels... will they work for DDS files or only 32bit files?

For some reason I don't have mirror shine like I did in the first video I post, which I made last year. I don't know if has to do with video drivers (6 updates) or Shade program. -TF

Whew, thought I never get this solved... now to work on adjusting that shine.

That should not be happening since the pod is linked inextricably to FS9 droptanks. Once dropped thats it, they're dropped. The pod animation is just that an animation, but the code behind that triggers FS droptanks!

Here are four fictitious paints of the B-58 I did some while ago. The RAF ones have been published before but these are substantially updated; the RAAF ones I did for myself but there was a request to publish. When I looked them over they were rubbish so I've completely overhauled them.

    Hope you enjoy them.

I take it the red cones are intake covers..? Cool!

I've done a bit of work on her since then but need to do some more on the engine pods/pylons.

I don't have the fs9 version, because I would rather spend money on getting FSX models. But, I've been waiting for your FSX version, and it's kind of been a tough wait. I'm glad the fs9 paints are going to work on it. Will we be able to see the engine pods and wing from the VC? Please say yes, lol. Captain sim just put out an update for their B-52, which includes the wing and engine pods being viewable from the VC. It really makes a big difference for TrackIR users.
