EE/BAC Canberra Master of Tasks pack released

    Hello all,

well, at long last the final pack in the bubble canopy series of Canberras for FS9 is ready for download:

This pack covers test-bed, experimental and photo-reconnaissance Canberra roles. There are 9 total models in the pack, including the PR.3, PR.7, B.6 (mod) and T.22. Full details available here:

    http://www.flyingstations.com/canber...-of-tasks.html

    Support thread available here:

Happy flying and thanks to all those that have supported Flying Stations and in particular, this series of models. This was a rolling release of 8 packs, started Nov 2010 and ending here now in Feb 2012! A bit of a slog, but we got there in the end and lots learned along the way. While I do not have any plans to abandon FS9, my focus is now going to shift over to FSX development.

    ATB for now,

    Steve

    Hello all,

for early customers of the pack who may have noticed a bug with the VOR/DME gauge, and a lights config issue with PR.7 WH793, I now fixed both issues and re-uploaded the pack. Turns out it was missing a file, my fault entirely. Your download links should still be valid, so please re-download for the updates. I will also send the link out again for existing customer just to make sure you get it. Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Steve,

    many thanks, downloading now.

I swear if I ever win big bucks on the lotto, I'll pay you handsomely to model exclusively for FS9, lol. (my system can run FSX without a sweat, just not my bag). Pipe dreams, I know, but one can hope.

Your a star for making two of my favs, the Cranberry and Seahawk.

    always indebted,
    Jamie

Cheers for that, Jamie, nice to know your work is always appreciated. In an ideal world FS9 development would be a viable thing (with or without that lottery money lol) but the truth is there just are hardly any takers for commercial products in this sim now. This release has really shown that to me, compared to say late 2010 when I started the series off. I put a fair bit into this last pack, and even though they are as much for me as anyone else, I think I will indeed have to focus on FSX now, but do my best to make them easy enough to knock out FS9 versions as well. I think for the most part it'll be easier to work backwards than forwards.

The other main thing now is poly count. When I started off, I was on an older system that could not handle FSX or higher polys on FS9; that has changed now and I really want to spend time making models even nicer now, especially in the VC department.m It's also about time I learned new texturing techniques that are used in X.

Final comment though - FS9 has been damn good to me and I have the sim running like a dream on my PC with all sliders maxed etc. It's going to be hard to shift away from it for a while till I get X looking the way I want to. Hopefully this is possible...

IAF Canberra PR.57 over the Himalayas

    Evening all,

I've never flown this part of the world before, but the stock scenery is quite enjoyable nonetheless. Testing out a new repaint I finished this evening and will put it online soon.

Mountain rescue has reported a downed light aircraft along the foothills of the Himalayas. 106 (PR) Sqn has been tasked with flare marking the crash site:

This shot came out nicely - I was working from this reference photo:

    http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Im...099-2.jpg.html

Yes, the port nacelle is not silver, but the way I mapped the engines means it would have made the stbd one silver too. So I left it painted.

    Getting closer:

    Flares dropped:

Banking back over to take some shots and mission complete. Another fine day's work for the Indian Air Force Canberras.

Thanks, Steve. Picked up this pack yesterday. Won't get to load it till tomorrow, at earliest, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it as much as I do the previous packs.

Looking forward to the fighter canopy series, even if they will be FSX. (In process of buying parts to build/update my box, now, so FSX is going to be even better for me, soon.) :salute:

You are most welcome WH, I'm really pleased to hear that after your long and very patient wait. I think MoT is my favourite pack, closely followed by Tugs and Trainers. Kind of a 'saved the best for last' thing. Looks like you are getting on well with WH793 there.

Playing catchup here... I also have my discounted copy of REX sitting as-yet-not-installed!
Downloaded and ready for a screenshot fest!
    Thanks for this package Steve.

It would be great to see you flex your skills at an FS9 extended-poly model, I reckon...

Cheers as always for the positive feedback, fellas, much appreciated. And Wing Z - this is the plan. Even if I make the next project (Sea Hawk) primed for FSX, using the unlimited poly export method that I now understand (not the case at the start of the Canberra series), there is nothing to stop a high poly FS9 export too. Sky's the limit, just will take a little extra time.

As for your screenshot fest, if its anything like what you did with the old B.2 pack, I am deffo looking forward to this.

Right now I am taking a short hiatus (pause to us laymen) from modelling and will catch up up on some other projects and do a few overdue repaints. But the plans are definitely in the works for the Sea Hawk. I learned a lot from the one I did in 2008, so this should be a nice new build.

BTW guys, seriously check out WH's screenies - they are very nice:

You are most welcome, gents, I will try to get some more done for other packs as time goes on. Never felt like I ever really got as many done as I wanted to, and we all know there are endless Cranberry schemes that can be done.
