    Mission Builder woes

I'm getting the message shown in the attachment when I try to load MB in both ETO and Pat's BoB.

    I have verified the paths.
I have reloaded the mission builder into the vanilla cfs3 and copied it over, and created new shortcuts.

I have started pulling out what hair I have remaining; before I do any more of that, has anyone been in this ridiculous situation and gotten it to work without a complete reinstall?

MAW, Rising Sun, and Korean Skies all work as they should.

    Hi Kelly,

That's odd because all of the necessary files are included in the BoB install.

Go to one of your installs where it's working and copy the complete MB folder across and also the files in the uries folder.

See first line in my post. It's in ETO 1.4 and Pat's BoB.
All others, Rising Sun, Maw, and Korean Skies are just fine.

To Pat Pattle: Tried that without success

I do get a different error. No amount of clicking in "OK" box or corner close has any effect. Task Manager shows MB.exe running as a process.

Rising Sun, MAW and Korean Skies works just fine, and doesn't report not finding this font.
A search of the entire install of each and a search of my fonts doesn't reveal any such font, either.

As you said it should work just fine in your BoB, and before my little crash which resulted in a complete reinstall of BoB, it was. I have no idea what happened to ETO 1.4; it was working fine.

Typical M$oft: Yesterday it worked; today it does not: Windows is like that.

    Just to be clear

For ETO the mission builder is a short cut in the main game folder is as below. You can send this to desktop

    Attachment 60059

You do not run the MB.exe from the MB folder in ETO.

The error you posted above happens when you try and move the Mission Builder Icon from it's original location. Just log off to force it to close.

    Cheers

    Mission Accomplished

I found another set of posts here abouts by Ndicki and others who got down to specifics about how the shortcuts work as Tailwind pointed out.

I'm not sure what happened in the first place, but I suspect it was a result of my little crash and burn of a month or so ago, and I just never noticed till now when I went to use it.

Sure enough, I had tried to drag a shortcut directly from the MB folder out to the desktop, and guess what? It doesn't work. Then when I tried to muck about with that, I just made things worse. So I backed out and set it up following Ndicki's notes, and got it to work.

Then, I found that I had a valid backup of all these files, and began moving the MB and URIES/MB folders and all the dll's over, and things are now back to normal.

Thanks to all who replied with pointers. I'm now good to go.

I think first, tho, I'll just go have a lie-down.....
