NEW ! Freeware Saratoga County Airport, New York

Just spotted this airport @ Flightsim, looks very well rendered and detailed ...

    Name: 5b2_v10.zip Size: 110,384,409 Date: 02-24-2012
FS2004 Scenery--5B2 - Saratoga County Airport New York, v1.0. Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY USA. This facility is owned by Saratoga County, formerly housed Rich Air and currently houses North American Aviation. 5B2 is a non-controlled airfield catering to small engine aircraft up to a few private jet daily traffic serving 'The Northcountry' and Saratoga Springs, New York. All objects fully designed and completely redone in Gmax using high resolution 32 bit photoreal textures. Optional DXT3 textures included. Also includes new AFCAD file, more accurate airport grounds perimeter, satellite photoreal grounds, custom taxiways, taxi signs and taxi lights, area roads, animated hangar doors, and near area landclass. Some GA AI traffic tracks included with this release, AFCAD also designed to support general AI. Rwy12 objects (Lars Extra Object Library) required for a few static parking lot cars. All textures mipmapped for performance. By EdGeneer Cox.

    Cheers ! Mike

Looks really nice, I've actually been by this airport in real life, looking forward to seeing what the scenery looks like. Only have to wait 35 more minutes for the D/L to finish using my high speed connection......

    Thumbs up

Just installed (use of the 32 bits textures) and tested with a Dash 7 short flight ...
    Very nice and FPS friendly
Don't forget to taste the Saratoga Spring Water ...

Very, very nice. Thanks for the heads up Mike.
The optional textures really helped me out.

My thanks to Ed Cox for a magnificent freeware
    scenery.

At first glance, the airport isn't much, really.
You might wonder where that whopping 110MB of textures went, even...

Then you start looking a little more closely

It's hard to believe this is a freeware FS2004 scenery.
Edgeneer knows a thing or two about scenery design, I'd say... thanks for producing this gem!

    WOW

At first glance, I thought the first two pics were real photos of the actual airport.

    Amazing scenery. He did well.
