I got to see 121 up close last month in Casa Grande. We were parked right next to it! It struck me as looking very tired, and I'm not sure it's actively flying at this time
Your model is really looking good!

Thanks and great pictures. Yes she is flying after a wing spar rebuild in Greybull a few years back. She is still airworthy and is now on the airshow circuit.
Jeremy was too humble to mention that not only does she fly, but he got to fly her for a good amount of time from the right seat last summer.
EDIT: just looked back and noticed I had already mentioned that on the first page. Oh well, I guess I just love tooting his horn for him, ha. On a serious note, it was a proud moment for all of us... Our circle of friends all being between the ages of 23-31, all having grown up watching these old tankers flying on fires, and not having finally all met each other until recent years -- having one of our friends fly one of the very tankers we had watched as youngins was exciting for sure. We were excited to even have the plane back in Hemet after a decade of not seeing her.
That looks great TG. :-)

back to the incident with T123 in 2002 (i think it was) the way the port wing folded.and the crash...does anyone think the wingfold of the "famous" indicent during WWII when they claim a bomb hit a B24 at the wingroot and folded the wing, looks surprisingly simmular?...ive looked at that video over and over and have never seen a bomb..looks to me like the spar broke and then wing folded....
Actually Dave the video that is out there is of a C-130A Tanker 130 with Hawkins and Powers also. It crashed June 17, 2002. That wreck was followed almost exactly a month later July 18 2002 of the PB4Y-2 Privateer. The whole fleet of FS contracted tankers was grounded after that. I believe wing spar cracks were found on some of the remaining birds at HP (2 C-130As and 4 PB4Y-2s) The company eventually went under and sold all of their assets at auction.
Change of plans. This will first release as a FS9 model. Progress is coming along and if you'd like to follow then the thread is over on the FS2004 forum

Thanks for the support

Very cool bird. I really like the paint scheme, it kind of reminds me of the HotBirds logo. For those of you who are too young (or too old) to know, HotBirds were a series of metal airplanes released when I was kid as a sort of aviation version of HotWheels.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to being able to fly this great looking plane.![]()
