Not Britney Spears then? Who can imagine her singing Celtic dirges.

There's Celtic music from lots of places - like Galicia in Spain.

Listen to what Carlos Nunez can do with the bagpipes !

3100 years ago, the celtic influence was on a large part of Europe... However it did not happened the same events during the centuries, here and there... But today the celtic tradition is more alive in several regions of UK, and in Brittany... ancient Story... When I was young, at school, a young boy like me had only spanish roots, but... he had Redhead with blue eyes... General De Gaulle, himself, had irish roots in a part of his genealogy...

And now, the fabulous irish side... ...

    Hey All,

Sorry but if you want real Celtic come to North America!

We'll start with Leahy - just your typical Canadian family band...

This one is another Canadian family band for when we Canadians feel like going around singing in Gaelic!

I just like this band so much... Three sisters outta Seattle Washington. The Gothard sisters...

    Love the F-style mandolin...

    This video is special...

Of course there are more but I have to return to Europe for one that you forgot. No instrument ever created on the face of the earth makes music from closer to the heart than the lowly harmonica. This man is one of my alltime favorites - Brendan Power.

    Enjoy!

Some good choons on here, thanks to Solobo for starting the ball rolling. Here are a few of my favourites:

One from the BBC's "Highland Sessions" with a line up that can only be described as Celtic royalty (in musical terms)

The sublime Karen Matheson, with her band Capercaillie

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5muV...f=results_main

Iarla Ó Lionáird is also a founder member of the Afro Celt Sound System, which fuses Celtic music with sounds and rhythms from around the world; might not be to everybody's rastes here, sorry. Possibly the best band I have ever seen play live!

And I can't talk about Celtic music from my shores without giving you the Dubliners (with a little added Pogue)
