Pretty gutsy move by the Sunderland crew. Canopy fix looks great: might have to ask Q's on getting files in.
Did n't know Mossies floated so well. At least the chap's getting a good snooze.

Pretty gutsy move by the Sunderland crew. Like the transparency fix: might have to ask Q's on where to put files.

What was the purpose of the Chute on the tail of that one plane?
There are 2 constants in the universe:
Hydrogen and stupidity!
Early 217's (see the picture of the E2 dive bombing) had spoilers/dive brakes. The early flap (brake) design caused damage to the frame and tail sections so the chute was used. The fascination with dive bombing twin and four engined bombers challenged the engineers to develop different ways of slowing these planes. Never understood why the n1/n2 had this brake as it was not very fast, albeit faster than the bombers it pursued but at night I would doubt it was used at all. Just a unique feature of the 217 series.
setting out
what is this one? never seen it before! Which unit? It seems to be a coastal unit in the MTO.

You'ld be surprised what lurks on my hard drive....... I'll button her up and get her placed somewhere. The Americans realized that heavy fog/smog impeded accurate daytime bombing so they began to use some radar equipped pathfinder planes. This model represents one of those planes. Just thought that it is different. Also, not sure if these ever participated in any night operations.....
Need to remove the liegh light....
