    Tante Ju!

There is a beautiful freeware Ju-52 for FS9 by Oliver Fischer and Andrzej Fitt. It's been out for several years now, but she “holds up well” even today. The VC is beautiful. I dropped the ship into FSX today just to see what the issues would be, and was pleasantly surprised to find none except for the usual "prop behind cloud syndrome", and the VC glass, which appears very dirty! I'm hoping one of the the “glass fixes” out there will apply a virtual water hose to the wind shield...

    OS: Win 10 Pro 64bit

She works great as an AI aircraft as well as a static model. Great for WWII German airfields. Thanks for reminding me Paul.

Thanking for posting this, Paul, I haven't played around with this one in a very long time - it's about time to change that. ; )

I saw that glass fix the other day, too, and went ahead and DL'd the plane and the fix, but I haven't installed it yet. I had no idea the VC looked this good

To get rid of the "prop behind cloud syndrome" delete the prop ju52.bmp, rename OleBoy´s Propblur 2-blade FSX (found here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...p-blur-attempt) to prop ju52.dds and all is well

Thanks newcomer. I didn't think it was possible to fix "prop behind cloud syndrome". I tried the prop textures you linked to. They are nice, but I think they still go behind the clouds in external view. They're less visible than the originals, which makes it hard to tell. I suppose that's pretty close to a fix...

I think you are doing something wrong - I just tried again myself, there is no problem at all! Have you really deleted the original prop.bmp?

Due to the model differences between native and port-over the prop will always be behind the clouds in SP2/Acceleration but with a very dark alpha the almost invisible prop will not seem to go behind the clouds.

Hmmm, interesting. This thread comes up, I just started working on some new textures for this beauty earlier this week. Still got a long way to go. All that corrugated metal took forever to do.

It depicts the beautifully restored Ju-52 from the Royal museum in Brussels.

    Hi

The "Tante Ju" is one of my favorite aircraft to.

As a kid, i´m used to watch the Ju-52 landing and take off from Bulltofta airport in Malmoe in the early 1950´s.

The aircraft was operated by the ABA company, forunner off SAS. and fly betwin Malmoe and Copenhagen.

As I remeber, the Ju-52 was very slow, just lumbering on in the sky.

    Best Regard

If anyone wants to use some of the Ju-52 CFS2 update schemes that I did and update them for this model they are most welcome, note that there was an issue with the mapping for the roof.

SteveB did the original layered kit which he very kindly passed onto me, if it is of potential use for someone else then please send a PM to SteveB to see if he's happy to pass it on to them as well.

There are also some nice schemes for the different Aunty Ju models over at FlightSim.com

    Hi,

There's a very useful program... DXTBmp..... that allows one to change formats... DDS, extended, etc,
you can also change/add an alpha layer and deal with those prop and glass transparencies.

I have a web site address, it may be old... be sure to get all the extensions..

    hope it helps,
    Peppy

There was one in the works a few years ago on a French forum, in high resolution, but sadly it was never uploaded to any website:

Unfortunately I cannot upload the PK on SOH due to the following notes included in the "ReADME":

"This is the original paintkit for the Ju52 (V2) by O.Fischer.
Compatible with the original freeware Junkers Ju-52_V.2 package by O. Fischer (Available ONLY at AVSIM). NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OLDER VERSIONS !!
Uploaded on AVSIM Administrator's request by Manuele Villa, May 2010."........"This archive is available at AVSIM only (O.Fischers personal wish) and is STRICLY FREEWARE ONLY. NO COMMERCIAL GAIN BY ANYONE IS ACCEPTABLE. This archive CANNOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be uploaded and/or displayed on other sites."

I can send the PK on request by PM.

That's a shame. I've looked for this paint many times too. Every time the film is on (which is often!!) I feel like taking the old girl out for a spin. I'm really surprised the Ju52 hasn't been remade.. thank goodness this old model was so good back then, it still looks good today

OT.. RobH.. did you get any further with that Wildcat paint? BOT.

Interesting!! Pity there are far more pictures of other models and the real thing than WIP shots Lets hope the pace increases now that dratted glider is out of the way

Loading Olivers model up again this morning.. it seems surprisingly frame heavy.. more than I remember. Can't find Johns CAF paint and Huub.. your unfinished work would be a very nice addition
