In the original AS pack you get both the B-36B w/o jets and the B-36H model with jets.

I have to say, I absolutely love this Eurofighter Typhoon package !!! Mike
I would love the B-36, I had it when Alphasim released it but since then have lost it when my old computer crashed. I have been hoping it would come back.
Working through that list... what a pleasure to have FS9 as your favourite sim!
There is something about those short take-off planes, isn't there?
What a delight, can't think why it never got into the hanger.
And thanks for the repaint pointer on the Ekranoplan, Ferry.
Not to mention, in my case... the fact that I have become an "old lion".
I did notice on the Alphasim/Virtavia freeware USA page, the Sikorski S-55 listed as freeware for FS9 and FSX. Maybe it's been there for a while, but this is the first time I have seen it there... and I visit that site daily.

"El gato que camina como hombre" -- The cat that walks like a man
That bloody well figures...Thought I was on to something there but I reckon not. I usually don't fly helicopters in flight sim, so I don't pay too much attention to them in the listings. Just that I saw it was for both FS9 and FSX, that was prolly what threw me.
I made an exception for Alphasim's Westland Lynx. I bought the model from them years ago and as it stands... it's the only helicopter that I fly.

Blackbird
You really should grab the S-55. Superbly done helo. It's one of the only helo that I have been able to achieve a complete hover in. Flies very well....meaning, I can actually fly it without having to grow extra appendages or develop anti-gravity devices.
I did up a sound pack for the S-55 some time back. Nice radial engine sound, coupled with a pretty decent rotor sound. There are two packages in the library....the original pack and and update for it.
OBIO
I might just have a look at the S-55. It wouldn't hurt to have a few more egg-beaters I reckon.
Years ago I picked up Alouette's version of the "Blue Thunder" Police Helicopter (from the movie of the same name) over at Hover Control. I played around with the flight dynamics and got the thing so that it would really boogie along. It would fly about 45MPH sideways... that was a real trick and took a steady hand. I replaced the sounds and panel, but left the visual model just the way it was. Whoever put that together really did a good job of re-creating the helicopter, pretty much looked the way it did in the movie. Unfortunately... I lost the modified version in a hard drive crash, but I could hover pretty good with it.
The Alpha Westland Lynx is like second nature... I've been flying it for so long that I can knock a pop can into a bucket with the skids... (well, not really, but I'm happy as a clam to boogie along in it, just above treetop level and landing on top of the occasional office building that happens by).

Alphasim
The old name "Alphasim" use to be, is, was a former friend of mines (the reason I paraphrase is I lost touch with him and his wife 2 years ago) fixation in flight simulator. He was a dedicated follower and customer of their products. Troy was a person I met online at a gaming forum, that grew to a friendship through online gaming. As I got to know him I learned that he had a past liking of flightsim. FS2002 and FS2004. I learned also that he had to make a decision at a point due to the amount of money he secretly spent on buying virtual toys. Of which unfortunately almost ended in a divorce because of Troy's, toys. From what he shared with me he was spending (not unbeknown to his wife) a lot of money on his hobby. I was told by Troy that he was forced to quit the hobby by his wife's threatening of divorce. I learned this when I had mentioned that I had a past hobby of flying radio control. That I was transitioning from the expense and had moved into, on, to flight simulation due to it had gotten out of hand in costs to pursue it any longer.
I received an email from Troy one day, telling that there was a package on it's way to me that should arrive soon. He stated it was too big for USPS. I had no clue what it could be. I waited. Two days later the UPS truck pulled in my drive. The driver handed me a box approximately 24" x 24" x 30" in size. I took it in the house and opened it like a little boy at Christmas. To find inside (4) joysticks (Saitek X35, Saitek X45, Logitech Wingman Extreme, and a Microsoft) (2) foot pedal controls. Included was MSFS 2002, MSFS ACOF and stacks of CD's, books, manuals, cables and more. In the backs of the books and manuals were where he'd written registration numbers or other pertinent info. Troy had given me what looked like his complete hobby (minus the PC and monitor of course)
Lots of stuff that could be found at the average freeware sites. Lots of Alphasim. He seemed to like their products.
I've had the stuff for almost 3 years. Some I've used, most I haven't. Mostly not used due to the way Troy had saved it on the discs. There's almost no organization to it whatsoever. Which forces me to have to open each compressed file to see what's contained. No time for that. The Alphasim add-ons were at least all on two discs. Back then I pulled out lots more payware developers brands. I can't recall them to be honest. The rest is/was a treasure hunt.
Having moved on to FSX a year or so ago, nothing get's used that I have. If I had to put a dollar amount on just the Alphasim products, merely a guess, over $500.00?
Seems the alphasim caribou model files are included in an upload to flightsim. Backdoor release or over-enthusiastic painter?
I will confirm it, the Caribou is released @ Flightsim, although it includes only one texture and the aircraft cfg. has line entries for many more liveries ....
