Does anyone know who is the manufacture of this automobile? It was photographed by a friend of mine a few years ago at the Auburn/Duesenberg auto museum in Indiana. Very odd and strange looking,...but looks expensive. too.

Much thanks CWO for the quick and accurate reply. I had never seen such a vehicle before. Reading the info,....it mentions it was 'one-off' type of production car. I can see why. Now,...if it only a couple of .50 cals. tucked in in the front end of the car....

Unfortunately it was built on a shortened 1948 Mercury chassis and powered by the same engine.
Not certain but I'd say that ugly uprighy box is the housing for the handbrake.
