    My daughter's new office

My daughter, Ashley, just arrived in Baghdad with the Army. She just sent a couple pictures of her "office building".

Quoting her discription, "The AL Faw Palace where I work is quite beautiful though in comparison- leave it to Saddam to have the best of everything. The main entrance is full of giagantic chandiliers made of glass beads from top to floor, everything is polished marble. the bathrooms are huge and luxurious. There are two grand, spiral staircases that lead up to the next floor and to the balconies on the roof. The ceilings are hand carved and painted with an intricate flower design...some having Saddams initials hidden within. the sunset is quite lovely though- very majestic and almost holy looking...it's also quite bright!"

My nephew, Donnie, is stationed in Baghdad as well. He works in one of Sadam's palaces...one set aside for his wives. The pictures that he brought home while on leave were amazing. Everything was marble, gold, polished to an unbelievable sheen. He also has a lot of video clips that he had taken....my favorite one was of a ghecko/lizard of some sort licking Coka Cola from the top of Donnie's soda can. That Ghecko/Lizrd was so beautiful. Then there was the video Donnie took of an ant....30 minutes of video of this large black ant walking around on a rock. He had the day off and had nothing better to do than to document a half hour of an ant's life.

And look at the size of that ice tea pitcher next to her.

Trans, from all of us back here tell her to stay safe and thank her for her service. Have her spread that to her fellow servicemen/women for their service too.

Also wish her, and have her wish everyone, a Merry Christmas from us all.

We hope safety and care follow her every footstep over there - as well as all others serving with honor.
