    The Heston Phoenix

    Hi All,

While trawling through the Classic British Flightsim fora, I came across this little beauty: The 1935 Heston Phoenix. This was the first high-winged British aircraft to have a hydraulically operated landing gear, but curiously, had no flaps. Though in theory she could carry 5 passengers, and a pilot, she was a touch underpowered, meaning that getting off the ground with anything more than 3 passengers and fuel was quite a challenge. Nonetheless, as modeled for FS9 she is a beautiful little aeroplane, has very friendly flight characteristics, cruises at 140 MPH, and apart from slightly frosted glass, ports over perfectly to FSx! Martin (T6flyer) has graciously given me permission to post his FS9 screenshots of the Phoenix here, as I have not had the time to make my own. Cheers to Dave Molyneaux, Brian Horsey, and Martin for making this model available to us all!

    Craig.
