    film strips around avitars

Why am I now hetting what looks like film strips around peoples avitars? These are black borders with what looks like holes on the side like a film strip and sometimes it partly obscures the text of the post.

    Welcome to Bollywood!

At least it's got me thinking; now the avatars are displayed larger, maybe it's time to get rid of my ugly mugg!

...now where did I put that Shirley Temple photo?...

At least your "mug" came out alot more clear than me trusty ol Sea Fury FB11, Nigel.... Maybe I'll go find another piccie of a "Beast", or a "Hog" that'll work better.

    Happy New Year BB686!

    Good to see you buddy!

I wouldn't change that Avatar of yours for anything. Always a pleasure to see...always a sight for sore eyes.

    badly distorted

My Hurricane avatar is also badly distorted and larger, glad to know I'am not the only one who has this.
Please administrators, return the avatar's back to the way they were, mine looks awful.

    And something else

Mine has extensions of the main border that partly obscures my post. This new look is not working.

Have to agree. Had to quote hurricane3's message just to be able to read it. It had half sized film strip sections on both ends and entended halfway well into the message text.

It's an interesting idea but doesn't work well with landscape oriented avatars. Plus the original avatars, sized to meet some requirement at the time are now double sized and very burred.

Yep, started one on the FSX side for the same reason. It's an interesting idea, but it's causing a lot of avatars to become blurry.

Now many of the avatars are so wide they are blocking the text in the posts. I can't read half of what has been posted in this thread.

Sure would like to know what is going on, or why someone is fooling around with the forums.

Probably a new update to the forums software. I'll pass the concerns on.

What's up with the Gray and green scheme here at the SOH, just me or are others experiencing this ? Mike

  20. #20
hmmmm...been having a couple surprises today, first it was the filmstrip style around the avatars and now this grey green colour.

Yep, the gray/green/mud scheme and the Super-8 frame 'round the avatars.

Is this yet another manifestation of the I-gotta-move-things-around syndrome?

Geeeze. if it works, leave it alone! We need some stability in this world.

This is the old Combat Flight Center scheme. Ickie's put it in place while trying to get to the bottom of the film strip around avatars thing.

Bitching is a good stress reliever and occasionally helps solve a problem. No one is obligated to pay attention to it.
