    Simply breathtaking - this is amazing texture work - you've got to be one of the best on planet for that! I can't wait to see what you'll do with some paint on this beauty!

    Fantastic metal work Nigel.

    Jeez - you guys just get better and better. At the rate you're going, they'll look better than the real thing before long. Now, all you need to do is work out how to provide the smell of an old (new) warbird - that effusive mixture of rubber, oils, avgas, cordite, paint and interiors! I believe the German planes smelt quite different to allied planes.....

    LOL I agree on Nigel's textures. Definitely top shelf work there. :-)

    Let's see, I can work on some xml code for scratch-n-sniff maybe? :-)

    Absolutely magnificent Nigel

    I'm almost ashamed to admit that these polished metal textures are going to get 'virtually dirty' flying in and out of the bush strips up north.

    Stunning beauty

    Stupid question (I know)

    Whenever that baremetal paint is ready,where would be the usual download site?

    Thanks

    A speedier workpace is also a desired objective... (I'm acutely aware of how much I've delayed the release of the Harpoon project).

    Steve, ever enchanted by your own, very talented magical touch, I fear you overestimate my work.
    But thanks for the encouragement, my friend.

    Roland; Thank YOU, Sir.

    NOT a stupid question - IMO, the only 'stupid' questions are the ones that never get asked.

    The texture will be part of the Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon package.
    Still work to be done before release (I'm the reason for its long delay).

    I'm sure Milton will be uploading to the usual popular sites when the time comes, but as an SOH member, you'll be able to grab your copy right here at SOH.

    Roland;

    Milton has made awesome upgrades to VC/interiors since version 1, so you can look forward to a VC panel of higher detail/rendition in the final model(s).

    The version 1 2D panel was a temporary/interim item - in keeping with other projects, we will construct the final 2D panel to closely resemble the VC.

    Roland,

    If you are asking about the 3 VC panel bmps, they are currently at 1024 X 1024. FS9 VC limits will allow me to go to 1536 but that does not seem necessary to achieve good resolution for the 3 main panel bmps. If you are referring to the 2D panel, Nigel covered that well.

    Please advise otherwise.

    Roland, you and I have similar likes :-) I will love the "incoming paint schemes" but the bare metal was my request from the beginning. Nigel has "nailed it"!

    My pleasure, Roland; I'll even fix you up with a high polish version if you like.

    Nigel's still lovingly polishing your shiny bird, Skipper - it'll be better than the thread pics though, I assure you.

    Guess I'd better stock up on some extra rags and brasso...

    EDIT;
    In addition to the metal version(s) mentioned above, I'm currently thinking on the lines of;

    1.Standard dark blue U.S. Navy version
    2.Two tone "Attu Warrior"
    3.Late "dull metal/markings"
    4.Civil metal/trim
    6.Tanker-metal/red

    I'm also open to suggestions for other schemes (preferably based on authentic paint schemes).

    Any HU would be most welcome, Gentlemen.
