Willy,
I really like the engine graphics too. I too am a bit OCD and therefore ... since the engines set back in the nacelles about 12-14", I prefer some shading around the outer edges where light struggles to find them. That's why my existing graphic is dark. Most of the pics I have of the Harpoon, Ventura, and Lodestar you can barely make out the details of the engines. Just seems more realistic to have that shading in place IMO. :-) Yup, OCD. LOL
Think I've got OCD too - must be going viral, I guess :-(
All good points re engine textures in dark cavities.
You may also want to reduce the contrast between the dark cylinder areas and cooling fins otherwise they're notorious for creating a kind of shimmering moire effect which can be very distracting in certain views.
All this is 2 minutes work if you're using layers.
You have an excellent base for textures there - just remember; a HINT of detail goes a long way.
Great work - awesome to see all this budding creativity :-)

For those of you having issues trying to start the Lodestar, try this.
Ensure your mixture lever is not in shutoff position.
Grab each mag switch and drag a bit to the 2 o'clock position and hold until the engine starts.
Repeat for the other engine.
Hope this helps.
That looks great Andre! The executive Lodestar I'm working on now, I decided that I wasn't too happy with a lot of it, so most of it is getting a redo.

Redo is redone.
All that is left to do is to rework the bitmaps for FS9 (resize and convert to 888 32 bit) and package it all up. That'll be tomorrow morning though

Wow, that's looking pretty smart Willy.
I'll be adding that to the collection.
Thanks.
Pete.
That's a beauty, Willy! Great job!
Cheers,
Maarten
Hi Andre,
That is a great job. I'm looking forward to add the Kar-Air Lodestar to the fleet.
Cheers,
Maarten
Thanks Maarten
The Karhumäki paints have been uploaded, they should be available soon.
Kar-Air is next, just finishing up some small items.
Thanks Willy, your executive Lodestar is also looking great.
I'm also going to take a break from doing historical paints to do a once off fictional executive Lodestar paint for the lodestar.

Wow! Beautiful work Gentlemen; thank you so much.
Just a quick question...
Will there be a paint kit for the PV-1 released?
Rachael has already done the great base pack paints, but I heard nothing since.
It would be a pleasure to get my hands on this...
Regards, Stuart.
Yes Stuart, I'm working on sorting it out... got a lot on my plate with work and FS dev work right now finishing up a project and starting a new one... Keep meaning to sort it, but I'll do my best to get it up tonight/tomorrow.
N80A is up in the Library here.
NC34217 & N5114 are on the plate now. Other than a couple of pic, I haven't been able to find any info on NC34217. At least the pics are in color which is a big help. N5114 was an executive aircraft for General Motors. B&W pic, but I've got a couple of color pics of GM Convairs with pretty much the same scheme.

The Paint Kit for the Ventura is now available; thank you Rachael

Just uploaded NC34217. In an earlier thread for the Lodestar, there was pic of it and expressed interest in that particular paintscheme. I never did find any history on it, but the pics I've found were all dated 1948.
Now to sort out the General Motors Air Transport Section one.

My kinda' style Willy - looks good!
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.
another classic beauty, I remember the source pic...a true "fast twin" scheme if I ever saw one
