Checking on it. I just got an email from Philippe saying he was sending new install files to be pushed up onto the server. From my experience his machine is clean. Vincent's probably is also but the install file everyone downloaded was put together on his machine.

I've been told there have been 600+ downloads so far with no problems other than a few instances of Norton trying to interfere in the name of safety.

Let's see, 43MB x 600 in 24 hours. Ouch. I hope they have unlimited bandwidth on that account. If not, it might have been cheaper to pay Dassault off and see it they would shoulder the downloads as part of the agreement.

I'll wait for the new file then. Too many unknowns here - wasn't just Norton, the fact that Chrome flagged it when I looked at downloading it put me off.

I'm with you, Andy. Bear in mind that it wasn't the installer that had the baggage... it was the UNINSTALL program. Albeit said, I will attempt to re-download the file once the new install files Frank spoke of are up. I plan to get my hands on the new Rafale one way or another... but it's gotta be safe.

I have just replaced the soundset with the sounds from Thor's Hammer FSX Freeware Rafale, I'll let you know how that turned out later ... Mike

I have sent a comment/question on the VPA Rafale Team forum concerning the position of french national roundel on the fuselage behind
the canard foreplanes with this reference material :

Compared to the real Rafale C, the fuselage roundel on the VAP Rafale is simply too far behind the canards.
At least by full diameter of the roundel and may be more.


After some repaint testing I have made, this seems related to the pattern of the different subfiles of the 3D model
and quite complicated to correct.

To all top gun repainters :
If you fond a way to correct this, please transmit your discovery to the VPA Rafale Team.

Also, I'm sure they would also really like to get some feedback and have it on their website. Apparently with 700+ downloads there has been no feedback from folks who downloaded the English language version. They did afterall make an extra set of gauges with US units and English language (not to mention an English language manual). So if you want to see the Rafale B and Rafale M produced or even this one improved (I know I do) you need to let them know and do so on their website: http://rafalevpa.xooit.fr/f16-Foreigner-s-bar.htm

This is freeware. Your feedback, good or not, is the payment.

Thanks Frank!! The zip file came up clean as a hounds tooth after being scanned with my AV program... I'll have a little time this morning to go through some ground school with the new model. (Just so I can figure out how to get the engines lit...). Hopefully flying this afternoon.

Hi Sunny, your french is understandable... And yes indeed, many thank's to the VPA team for their excellent and amazing pack.
I only installed the clean model, she flies very well...

I have downloaded the Rafale 2 days ago and its simply wonderfull ! In the meantime its one of my favourite aircrafts. But ........... Whats about the canopy ? It's very dark (black). Any idea to make it more visible ?

But anyway, thx to the developers !!!

In the texture sub folder, in the files glass_avt and glass_canopy, the black parts (ext, as exterior, on right side) must be lighter, and maybe a very light touch of green..Tested, and confirmed.

That was one thing nagging me as well.

Also the ground steering only seems to be possible with rudder input.
It might be realistic, but I am so used to the joystick nosewheel steering. Any solution (contact point adjustments)?
