Sandown Park is one of the 'classic' venues in Australia, built around a horse racing facility and the scene of some great motor racing, dating back to 1962.
The round of the V8 Supercars has always held up the standard established over the past 45 years, and the 'Melbourne Weather' can make for an 'interesting' weekend.
For instance, Friday practice and setting up the cars was run in hot {35C} and windy conditions, Saturday qualifying and Race 1 found a cool {20C} day complete with rain showers and thunderstorms as a bonus.
Some excellent racing and outstanding drives.
Sunday might be dry ...... or it might not.
