Thread: Introducing the Avia 51

  1. #951

    Fellas, help me on this!

Wasn't there a single-radial-engined Avia? Like the 156, but with a radial. I've reviewed the first 34 pages of this thread and haven't found it, so that should be a clue. However, I'm convinced I flew it a while back. Am I dreaming?

You stopped too soon. :-) Not yet released but in beta.

The Avia 56, a 6-passenger, single engine radial, was the intended follow-on project for Robert Nebesar after the Avia 51. The Avia Rr-29 radial depicted here had problems so they changed plans and the prototype to install the v12 liquid cooled and rebadged her as the 156.

We thought the Avia 56 would have been a great plane and wanted to fly her. So we created what the Rr-29 would not allow, the Avia 56.

Will probably release it this weekend if all goes well.

She comes with wheels, floats, amphibs, and skis, 6 models and 8-10 paints.

    Thanks for your interest. :-)

The bones of this most amazing ship being expertly meated out.

A pure sin of the flesh if you ask me.

Can't wait to be in THERE!

Got myself a little 'runabout' to move faster from hangar to hangar.
Legs are killing me from all this racing around at Cheb.

The '56' is looking really sharp in those paint schemes, Nigel. I really like the "Airplane Safari" skin for the amphib. You have captured that 'classic essence', one of the traits that the '56' has and wears like no other.

Bravo-Bravo, glad to see you're hooked on these babies (you certainly know how well they handle too).

Just imagine; the best is yet to come as Milton has already kindly shown us.

I'm grounded for the time being - a lot of building to be done at Cheb for this rapidly expanding fleet.

    Great scenery dvj.

Milton has these fine aircraft undergoing thorough Beta testing,
So I expect shipments to all you anxious haulers will commence fairly soon (but don't work too hard, take some time off for yourselves and try a spot of fishin' or sightseeing.

The incentive is now focused on bringing forward the much awaited Avia 57.

...and that's one whole lot of incentive!

My Avia 51 amphibian has gray/white tires, all the other models are black. Is it supposed to be this way? If not will someone please fix the texture?

    Thanks Terry

  17. #967
Ah, looks like the alpha channel got hosed up.

Attached is a corrected texture for the pontoons.

    Thanks for the heads up.

The Avia 56 Is Uploaded and Available

The Avia 56 Project for MSFS2004/FS9 ACof - VERSION 1.0

by Milton Shupe, Nigel Richards, and Matt Wynn, with contributions by Bill Ortis and Oleboy with help from SOH members.

Functional VC model included; Pkg incl seven Aircraft models (wheels, floats, amphibs, skis) with 13 textures, a great flight model, authentic and awesome radial custom sounds, custom panels, easy-to-read clickable virtual cockpits, and superbly crafted exterior and interior textures.

This aircraft release is one in series of real world Avia aircraft designed by Czech engineer Robert Nebesar. The first was the Avia 51 and 156. This Avia 56 was a prototype that was changed because of engine availability, and became the 156. The next and last aircraft in the series is the Avia 57, a 14-passenger, 3-engine monoplane currently under development.

Technical/Consulting: Moses03, Michal Beran, Tomáš Rusek - consultant, John Smith (Hurricane91) - research assistance - metric panel repaint, Michal Plavec - Curator of the Aviation Collection National Technical Museum, Prague, R. Berger, Karel Kriz - Newspaper and poster materials.

NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN FSX, BUT TESTED IN SP2 ACCEL DX9 AS A PORTOVER. THERE IS A FOLDER WITH FSX UPDATES FOR EACH AIRCRAFT SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO TRY IT THERE. NOT SUPPORTED.

Thank you Milton & crew for another superb product. Your spirit and effort, and that of everyone else who labored long and hard on this project, as on so many others, are what make SOH and flightsimming special. Well done, sir!:salute:

Got mine and all I can say is HOLY COW!

I loaded Oympic Spirit at Skagway. Before I started the engine I took about 10 minutes just to admire the exterior. I changed time of day several times just to get some different lighting reflections and WOW!

Then, THEN I started the engine! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! LOL! I restarted the engine several times just to listen! Like vintage Bonnie Raitt or Delbert McClinton I just played it over and over again!

Congratulations folks on a most outstandind little jewel. Mighty fine work,

    Thank you one and all!
