A little update on my restoration efforts. Cadmium plated aluminum installed.

    This shot deserves a "right-click, view-image"

Absolutely stunning work all round!! She's a beauty.

Been quiet as I have been busy rebuilding much more than I had originally envisaged, lots of non-FS stuff needs rebuilding that I had not banked on.

You guys are doing far better work than I could hope to do. Guess I need to practice some (lots) more. It's embarrassingly good what your displaying.

    humbly,
    Jamie

That's the type of comments that are extremely encouraging.

Thanks (from all of the team) Jamie.

Sir Milton Shupe's work is without a doubt the finest Payware ever to see the pixelated light of day in any Simulator. Thankfully he chooses to make all that goodness available to all of us without having to break out the digits.
No mere words can ever truly come close to convey the appreciation he deserves.

In case of the Avia aircraft that excellence is uniquely matched by some outstanding skin work that just defies belief. From my own dabbling in FS paintwork I know that painting is actually not that hard, as long as you have gobs of patience, an eye for detail, lots of reference material and most importantly stay away from bare metal work. The last two make these Avia paints all the more stunning.

As Pete said....waiting patiently to add those beauties to my hangar. While personally the Lockheeds are my priority "request", the Czechoslovakia Tripplets have a definite reservation in my sim. Might even park the Connies for a bit

I'd have to agree whole heartedly with Stefan about Milton's generosity.

The range of aircraft he's given us over the years, for our enjoyment, is astounding.

    Thank you Milton.

    Pete.

Many long hours and hard work were put in by Milton, OleBoy, Nigel, Matt and others. Many thanks to you guys for bringing us some very rare and historic aircraft.

You're forgetting a very big part of this team. You yourself have been a great help, John. It's people like you and the many others that help projects like this flourish.

Hey, kudos to all of you, particpants in one way or the other, both obvious and behind the scenes. It's about having fun after all.

Let's keep it in perspective, enjoy the comraderie of the thread, and remember, it is freeware.

Quality is in the eyes of the beholder and hopefully it will be acceptable to many.

Meaningful to me is a decent model, great textures, great sounds, a functional panel, and a nice hand flyer.

And that all of those who contributed, learned something new, shared with the community, and are proud to be part of SOH to enhance the FS World.

If we have done these things, then we have been successful in the journey.

I figured I'd give everyone an update on my progress. No pictures this time. I'll let you guess what it will look like. Not even the rest of the team knows. I've completely redone the fuselage for better historical representation. I've added almost every little tidbit of what's seen in photos. If it wasn't modeled, it was painted there. When it gets handed off to Milton for finals, it will look the best of my abilities, as it did in the pictures taken in the early 1930's.

Many times I was frustrated to no end. I saved my progress, closed Photoshop and walked away. Only to come back later with a fresh mind. I'm glad I didn't give up. Doing the repaint has let me virtually touch every square inch of this beautiful piece of history.

With any luck, it should make an appearance, soon. Possibly this weekend.
