    rudder and elevator movement assignments,
    DONE.

still haven't fixed the strut/karman bleed.

am also noticing a few instances
    of polygons disappearing
    at certain view angles.
i think i mentioned this before.
all i need to do is change
    the order of the points
    in each offending polygon.

    on the home front;
    finished installing the trim work.
    it looks pretty good,
if i do say so myself.
the deep reddish brown of the honduras mahogany
    contrasts rather nicely
with the lighter ash flooring and cabinets.
    i guess there are advantages
to working for a wood company.

    well, it's been a while
since i've given you a teaser.
    so, here goes;

    i've emptied the texture folder
to cut down on the size of the zip.
    consequently, there are no textures,
just the various parts in the different colors
that i used in the build process.

it makes it all a bit gaudy
    and down right distracting.
    sorry about that...
i guess that's what makes it a teaser.
besides, this way, no one can steal it
repaint it and claim it for their own.

    comments and critiques are welcome
    and would be considered helpful.
so, have at it and please,
    don't pull any punches.
you might see something that i've missed.

but be aware, at this point,
it is a visual model only.
the dp and air files have not been fine tuned.

    ------
i just remembered, in this version,
the floats do not sit flat on the water.

You do realize that I'm bursting with envy !!!

Too bad they're is a whole continent between us. Otherwise, I would beg you to let me visit your wood shack.

BTW; how do you keep your stock, inside, outside, both? How do you keep inventory and track of the different varieties?

I'll go get a copy of your work in progress and give it a spin or two...
If you don't succeed the first time, then base jumping is not for you!

    hello H,
so glad to see you're feeling better.

    if you mean, the company,
    we have 4 warehouses,
one of which is a retail show room,
    one is mainly veneers,
    one a mill house/overflow storage,
and the main one has the sheet goods,
flooring, decking, slabs and the solid stock.
(i've been told it's the largest building in Jefferson County)
    whoop tee doo!

i don't know how the keep track of it all,
that's not my department. i'm transportation.
i'd say it's all in that expensive computer system
    we bought years ago.

if you mean my personal stash,
    most is under the deck,
with veneers and the real good stuff
in the basement, in the shed,
    or installed in the house.

    if you want to visit,
the company is open to the public.
    but bring your wallet.
my "shack" is open to my friends,
which you are considered one of the few.

    Smilo,
I use to keep mine in an old school house clock in my hallway, but many years ago
my daughters boyfriend managed to walk by and knock the clock off the wall, almost
exposing it. Stash now relocated. LOL

    good one, Dave.

being as i'm a commercial driver
and get to take random drug tests,
    i'm squeaky clean.
    haven't touched the stuff
    for near on 40 years.

who knows, might be a different story
after i retire and all those years
of pain start to catch up with me.

Never, ever got into any of the stuff. Not when I was young, not now.
I need to find a few wood pieces for adding a bit of height to a book shelf to create a proper ceiling height for my GI Joes.
Shelf is 10 inches high now. It needs to be about 16 inches for 8 foot ceilings in the room.

a picture is worth a thousand words.

especially, if it's highlighted with gimp.
ie, draw in where you want the new height.

    Icon28 it's teazer time

    ------
    is there anybody out there?
just nod if you can hear me.
    is there anyone at home?

    it's been a while,
    so, i figured i'd give
    you'll a little taste...

texture mapping is a tedious treat.
    especially, when one doesn't know
    what the heck one's doing.

    live and learn, i guess.

    i started at the elevator
and have been working my way forward.
    _______

apparently, a friend is in town for a few days
and i must do my duty and go visit.
then, tomorrow, i gotta watch the races.
i hear we have guests coming over.

    yippie skippy...
    i'd rather be painting.
or at least, laying out the bmps.

    thanks Dave,
she is, by no means, perfect
    or even close to it.
    but what the hey,
    we're moving forward.

today, i continued on with the detail lines.
and i just finished splashing some color on her.
    nothing too special,
just basic stuff using ms paint.
it took me a while to figure out
why i wasn't getting all the colors
    on the basic ms pallet.
    apparently, about half of them
turn to gray when saved as 256 colors.

no worries, i figured out a way around it,
but i won't bore you with the details.

    i wasn't going to post a screenie,
    but what the heck...

    Hi Smilo,

The Aeroplane is looking pretty good.
You might want to download AF5Paint from No Dice's site.
It makes painting a whole lot easier.

holy cow, has it really been over two weeks?
    ________

time flies when you're having fun!
or in my case, when you're old.

there's been, what seems to be,
a lot of progress on the project.
although, i did set aside my quest
to learn how to layer in 256 colors.
    maybe later.

    the texture mapping,
    if that's the correct term,
    is nearly complete.
as everything else with this project,
    it seems to be overkill.
    but, what the heck,
i never claimed to be frugal.

continuing on with my standard MO
of not staying focused on the task at hand.
i am now working on some animations.
one in particular is giving me fits.
    i WILL NOT be thwarted!

    ******

    no screenies as of late.
    maybe later today.
