i'm shooting for 20 December, 2012.
the day before the end of the world.
i'll try for the morning,
so, at least, you'll have a day
to play with it.

Smilo,
We haven't seen any teasers in a while ?
Dave
yeah, sorry about that.
to say that i am a bit apprehensive
about putting up anything,
would be an understatement.
especially knowing that there will be
a major shuffle here may 4th.
here's a link within a link,
if you're interested;

don't say you haven't been warned.
back to the 196...
there really isn't much to report.
let alone, tease you with.
i've spent the past few weeks
building accessories and fooling around
building the float framework struts
and the joints that attach them
to the floats, fuselage and wings.
after finishing that, i've been fighting
with the joint and strut code sequencing.
there's been a heck of a lot
of trial and error. mostly error.
try to imagine all of those support struts.
now, imagine putting them in the proper order
so that when you look at them,
from any angle, they show
without overlapping incorrectly.
ie, bleeding through each other.
yesterday, after many hours,
i was finally able to get the job done
for the right float forward struts and joints.
there are a few infinitesimal issues,
but i am prepared to live with them.
next, i need to consolidate the coding
for that area and move to the float rear.
i am hoping that i can use what i've learned
doing the front section for the rear.
we shall see.
when the right float, wing and fuselage are done,
i should be able to just mirror it to the left side.
once again, we shall see.
i have no doubt that there will be something.
there always is, isn't there?
so much for
"there really isn't much to report."

just a quicky...
today, i was successful coding
the frame joints and struts
to the right float in six places.
they look pretty good from all points of view.
and all with nary a bleed.
at least to my blind eye.
next, the fuselage and wing connections.

today was a very productive day.
all floats and fuselage strut joints
are showing properly in the main model.
that's 22 of the little darlin's.
all struts and cross members
are also showing properly.
with the exception of the center portions
of the float to wing struts.
i may be over confident,
but i see no problem with them.
they should be done in an hour or so.
after i take a break.
(famous last words)
sorry, no screenies

Well if we can not have a screen shot, Can't we at least have that picture of you on the jump rope?

this past weekend was very productive,
yet, ended in frustration.
so much so, that i had to just walk away.
everything was lining up properly,
with the exception of the prop
and forward floats.
no matter what i tried,
there was always some conflict.
if the prop and floats showed properly,
there was a slight bleed
of the lower float struts and prop.
if i made that one go away,
then there was a problem with
the prop and forward floats.
round and round i went,
until i got to the point
where i had to put it down.
today, while heading home,
a solution came to my weak brain.
after trying it out this afternoon,
i am most pleased to report
that the solution worked.
now, we even have exhausts,
air intake scoop and fuselage gun pod.
next, the rear gun and float rudders.
sometimes the magic works.
sometimes it doesn't.
