You're right, at least two gauge files are acting funny or are not FSX compatible at all: es_154m_3_105.gau and PVA_Tu154_0_018.gau... what a pitty... it's hopeless...

    Aeroflot A319

Does an Aeroflot Airbus qualify as a Russian Airliner? With Project Airbus you can easily build a 100% native FSX aircraft with the default A321 VC. Here is a cute A319...

No other suggestion for a real FSX Russian Airliner?

  3. #28
I am sure you can also find some good Aeroflot paints for the PMDG MD-11. I too would love to see some good Russian or Ukranian birds. I suggested an AN-124 and/or 225 at the PMDG site and was kind of scoffed at. A PMDG style quality AN-225 with a COTS style 'crew' would certianly be a dream...as the plane is named.

I hope that Supronov fellow is able to bring his beautiful Yak-40 to the FSX world.

Russian bombers would be awesome too...Bear, Badger, Backfire...etc

    SamDim / SCS's Tu-134A-3 v 1.2 in FSX

Some screenshots of the SCS's Tu-134A-3 v 1.2 in FSX. Ports over without too much trouble, try it!

Systems seem to work as intended as far as I can tell (I think I succeeded in making a startup from a cold and dark situation with the engineer panel and various switches here and there... Right click on covered switches to remove protection...).

There is no VC in the version 1.2 for FS9. It was considered at some point by SCS but it was never released... This VC picture on the right comes from this avsim thread, where Dimitri from SamDim gives some news about various SCS projects (April 2011). Maybe with a little bit of pressure and encouragement, such wonderful projects could revive again?

I would like to see the 134 with a VC. Let's hope. Thanks for the heads up on this Vonstroheim.

By looking up the generic procedure for VC swap-aronies and adapting it to my 328.

Sorry, "pressure" was meant more like an "encore" or a "bis", you know, like a fan at a show asking for another song to his favorite band... I'm quite a fan of SamDim's band! Here are SCS's Tu-134 (v1.0 with no glass nose and S7 livery depicted here) and An-24 (for FS9 only).

    Attachment 49228

    Attachment 49229

Don't you think these two projects should have another good look by the designers? For the An-24, if a FSX native exterior model is available at some point, it would be easy to "attach" the Tim Conrad's An-32 VC (below) which is marvelous... So SCS could focus on the outside, and the pressure to build the VC would go away... (Is Dimitri reading this forum?)

Well, if they have something better to do, they have something better to do.

It's their project and their spare time after all.

    Virtavia-Alphasim Kamov Ka-27

This is certainly not a russian airliner, but it's a FSX native, classic soviet-era aircraft. So maybe this fits more or less in this thread... The famous Kamov trademark, the contra-rotative double-rotor, is wonderfully designed and animated.

    Attachment 49292 Attachment 49293 Attachment 49296

    Attachment 49297 Attachment 49294 Attachment 49295

Anybody knows why most (if not all) soviet aircrafts have their cockpit painted in this light blue color? Less reflection in daytime? More visibility at night? Too much blue paint laying around at the factory?

You're right, it looks like SamDim is working hard on a Bombardier Q400. Very very nice indeed... but canadian, not russian... Wrong thread I know... Anyway same bloody awful weather in both countries... Snow is expected here this weekend... temperature already dropping below zero at night...

    Attachment 49298 Attachment 49299

I guess the VC is intended for a payware version. Let's hope the external model could be released as a freeware, then we'll be able to attach the default Bombardier CRJ 700 VC. More pics here: http://samdimdesign.free.fr/

While I didn't opt for the Ka-27/32 pictured here (don't care for the look of the VC), I do have the same organization's Ka-50 "Black Shark". It's a pretty nice addon!

Regarding the cockpit colors, you'll see light blue, greens, and blacks in various cockpits.
About the blues and greens, it is my understanding that research was done that concluded that those colors were psychologically helpful (soothing, relaxing, etc). I've also heard that the colors are cheaper to produce/use.

Also remember that some Douglas DC-9 aircraft employed green(ish) cockpits as well. A few examples:

Right, the SCS An-124 has a black background...

This is contract work for Majestic Sim. No way this model's ever going to be freeware.

    Aeroflot B777 & Ilyushin Il-18

A true FSX native but not a real Russian Airliner... Freeware Project Open Sky's Boeing 777 with Tom Collins, Kyle Schurb and Dhruv Kalra Aeroflot repaint (tkd_afl_b772v11.zip at avsim). VC swap with payware Captain Sim Boeing 757 (here the free demo version, with missing gauge and dead yokes). This is just for fun and to keep this thread going...

A true Russian Airliner but not a real FSX native: Kirill Konovalov Ilyushin Il-18. The most beautiful VC and cabin - ever.

    Kirill Konovalov Ilyushin Il-38

Wonderful Kirill Konovalov Ilyushin Il-38 for FS9, works ok in FSX if you discard some tricky gauge files (Il-38.gau shuts down all engines, don't know how to restart them... can't read russian manual...).

    Attachment 50059 Attachment 50060

(32346-IL-38.zip at avsimrus, Corsica scenery by FG91X)

Well I hope a new thread will open soon: "My favorite FS9 aircrafts ported-over to FSX". 'Cause this Il-38 is not a russian airliner, nor FSX native... but definitively a favorite!

    FSX native Tupolev Tu-204/214

This is old news but I think Kirill Konovalov is working on a FSX native Tupolev Tu-204/214... Can't wait for this one!
Here is the old FS9 Gmax version by Robert Versluys:

    Attachment 50079 Attachment 50080

The Tu-204 is similar to the Boeing 757 and with russian made glass cockpit. Some picture found in the in avsim russian forum:

Project Tu-214 thread in avsim russian forum... 36 pages in russian!

Someone knows a good Il-76 Candid for FSX? Or an originally FS2004 version which is modified for FSX?

  24. #49
It think there is a FS9 model with VC, but I'm not sure how well it ports over, or, if at all.

  25. #50
The aircraft's model is ok in FSX, but in the VC textures and gauges are lost.
