...so how does the 'D' differ from the other marks?

Well a D model has cannons instead of machine guns to take out armor and has added armor to the plane including near the cockpit. I is longer to near the nose and i think the loadout is different a bit.

...Methinks you may be referring to the 'G' series which is available in our archives (somewhere)

It doesn't, unless you mean 20mm cannon, which generally don't do more than annoy tanks. The D began life as a pure dive-bomber, basically an improved and refined B. More aerodynamic (well, a bit), better engine and armament, etc, but still a dive-bomber. Recognisable from its canopy which tapers towards the rear, and a more pointed nose.

Subsequent Doras (D-3 on) still had dive brakes but were not generally used as dive bombers. The D-5 was a dedicated ground-attack version with MG151/20s fitted in the wings, while the final variants of the Dora, the D-7 and D-8, were night harassment aircraft with extended flame dampers converted from D-3 and D-5 airframes.

The Gustav however was basically a modified D-3 or later D-5 fitted with a 3.7cm FlaK 18 under each wing. That's the one you're thinking of.

There's an ex-MAW Chapter 2 Dora around - I've got it, in any case - but I think it lacks insides. Can't remember...

The 3D model is nearly complete with Bravo4 skin on it.

There is no cockpit but if I remember well, somebody is still working on this project.

I think Greg Law was working the Luca model. Not sure if he is active anymore.

Yep Greg has it, work was started on the pit, but at the moment he has more important things to do, we'll just have to wait and see?

I have tinkered a bit with the G-MAX model of the ju87-G, That has been around for years. to make a Dora, just added pylons, dive brakes, guns, and some other bits and bobs, did not touch the cockpit, except to add a basic gunsight, Not sure if i am allowed to upload, anyone have any objections to this being uploaded, if not then i will upload in a couple of weeks,(Some of you are probibly asking why i take a while to upload, well usually every aircraft i have is moddified to some degree,so these have to be changed back to the origional configeration, also in some cases i have to wait for permission, the stuka for example has modified sound files, files taken from the MAW,and just flight Bertha stukas,

    Jaycee, you are a magician!

Also, don't hesitate to release the F5 Lightning serie you've made. Even if the nose shape is not exactly the same as real aircrafts due to 3D model limitations, I'm sure many people here would be interested, you've done a great work on this one also.
