Milton, not a big deal, but this EC-1A had the same cabin windows as the C-1.

Well you can leave it as it is?? Besides, there has only been ONE such plane ever converted.
More interesting, paint like wise, is to take old E-1B airframes, remove the radome, and throw them on the civilian market as cargo haulers.
That would give a lot of repaints.
I always wondered, both the Tracker and Trader found a way on the civi market, why didn't the Tracers??
A lot of them are still stored.......
Cheers,
Hank
Hank,
Yes, I will leave as is. Mapping changes really complicate matters and I do not want to invest the time (with the Harpoon, Dash 7, and Avia 57 proojects in progress) to divert 1-2 weeks for that change. Plus you would need another paint kit.
Thanks Milton, as that is the most logical solution, one that makes perfectly sense ! :salute:
Cheers,
Hank
Hey Guys,
While researching for another repaint I found a better picture of the lower nose area of the VS-23 S-2E that I had painted, I didn't carry the stripes far enough on the bottom. This texture fixes that. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Dave
Anyone have a fix for the E-1B shaking with the parking brakes set? The EC-1A does this also. The S2F-3 doesn't do this at all!
Dave
Actually there is nothing wrong here. Let me demonstrate.
Stand here in front of me.
Now I hang 2 900 lb engines, one on each arm.
Each engine has 1820 cubic inches and the 9 pistons in each engine develop 169.4 HP.
Now let's start those engines.
With 18 cylinders hanging there developing 3050 supercharged horse power,
Let me know when you start shaking. :-)
In all seriousness, I would be surprised if the aircraft do not shake abit with both engines running; probably more realistic.
But, the way I have the suspension setup with 75% of the available compression used sitting static, this causes a bit of that, especially if throttles are not at idle with brakes on.
This causes the sim to think that the suspension is well compressed (which it is) because I believe in lots of hanging gear on approach (as in the RW).
It also varies with scenery or type of runway.
It can also be caused by a low yaw MOI but that is not necessarily the case here.
Another cause can be CoG is way off; not the case here as both are well within the aircrafts' limits (actual CoG is 23% and 26% for these two models).
Another possible cause could be the rear bumper gear is a liitle lower on one than the other.
At any rate, it is barely noticeable here, but I like it that way.
If it's dancing for you or causing a crash, then that is a problem.

Okay, Thanks Milton and Duckie!
Dave
Been playin' in the paintshop again. Not too pleased with the sea serpent, but there are no decent pics of it. I had to guess a lot. Let me know what you think...
Dave
Playing in the paintshop! One question Milton, What texture are the engine scoops mapped to? Thanks!

I was going for a naked aluminium look for a fictional cargo hauler but when i try to apply alpha channels to get a proper reflective finish the textures turn transparent on me. Is there some work-around to avoid this?
I can do without alpha but the metal finish will not be as good!:salute:
Best,
Sascha
Glad to oblige Dave. :salute:
Going pretty well. Down to adding the panel lines and detail to the nacelles. Then it'll be ready for that "lived in" look to be applied.Originally Posted by p3aewguy
