This was actually the aerodynamic prototype for the E-1. It originally had the E-1 radome installed (never had radar installed) and the shorter fuselage of the C-1. It was later lenghtened to the E-1 standard and later still, had the radome removed. It finished it's service life designated as a C-1A and was stationed at one point of ot's life at Quonset Point Naval Air Station, RI as well as Cecil Field. Reportedly, the aircraft still exists at the Quonset Point air museum

Well, if you can help sort out the antenna rigging, I can probably do that in a hurry.

Wow.....that looks awesome Milton! It certainly gives a different look. :salute:
About the antenna rigging, it looks like the standard C-1A rigging.

    Will do some quick research.

I found one huge sized picture of this hybrid : http://www.flickr.com/photos/franmof...n/photostream/

Basically the same as the C-1. If you keep the mapping the same as the E-1, I can paint it using the exising E-1 paint kit.

You must read minds, Milton. I was going to ask, but I know that you have a lot of "irons in the fire".

    EC-1A Prototype

How does this look (apologies to Duckie for temporarily using his textures).

This is the E-1B without the radome and with C-1A antenna rigging added.

Now, anyone volunteer a paint scheme?

    Thanks Hank.

I will package her up, upload it and send a link.

You will use the E-1B paint kit (of course without the radome). :-)

Found a pic of a E-1 that seems to be operating without the radome
and has a all white scheme.
